Would highly recommend. One of the best!

Not enough can be said about Mr. Carter’s professionalism both in and out of the courtroom or in this case virtual court room. If you ever find yourself coming out of an extremely toxic relationship and end up in a bogus domestic violence situation do yourself a favor and contact Mr. Carter first. The staff at Hoffman Dimuzio is very friendly and caring. Mr. Carter himself went above and beyond for me and the unfortunate situation I was put in to make sure everything was dismissed. Before and after every trial he would call to touch base or recap and was prompt with answering questions and proving advice. I came in needing a lawyer and left with someone who felt like a friend or family member. His understanding of the laws and your needs exceeded my expectations. He cares, he listens and takes action when needed. I hope to never need his services again but would not hesitate to use Mr. Carter if I ever did. Thank you Mr. Carter for everything.

Born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, Mr. Carter is a 1990 graduate of Washington Township (NJ) High School. He graduated from Rowan University magna cum laude with a B.A. in history and concentrations in German and honors studies in 1995. In 1998, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers School of Law - Camden. After law school, Mr. Carter moved to New Mexico, where he was an associate at Lamb, Metzgar, Lines & Dahl in Albuquerque. He then returned to New Jersey and served a judicial clerkship with the Hon. Marilyn Rhyne-Herr in the Hunterdon County Superior Court before becoming an associate with Angelini, Viniar & Freedman in Woodbury. He was the managing member of The Law Office of James M. Carter, LLC, in Washington Township before joining Hoffman DiMuzio in January 2007.

Early in his carrer, Mr. Carter acted as a municipal prosecutor in several Gloucester and Camden County towns, including Cherry Hill Township and Clayton Borough, and served as solicitor to the Elk Township Combined Planning & Zoning Board. He presently concentrates in all areas of family law, family-based immigration, land use law, and administrative matters, particularly professional licensure issues.

He now lives with his wife of 25 years and their two sons in Glassboro, where he has coached youth soccer, baseball, and basketball and has served on the Board of Directors of Glassboro Babe Ruth Baseball and as president of the Glassboro Soccer Club.

The Best!

I did a lot of research before I chose a lawyer and I can say I made the best decision. Mr. Carter is very personable and friendly. He told me what the process was going to be for my situation during our consultation and it was in fact everything he said. He was in constant communication every step of the way so I knew what was going on. I was very nervous before the court hearing and he did a great job at settling my nerves. He made my situation very easy and stress free. He also did not charge an arm and a leg to have him on my side but based on my experience with him money wouldn’t be an option to have him on my side. I highly recommend Mr. Carter to anyone going thru a divorce or any legal matter. I pray I never need a lawyer again but if I do he will be who I contact. Thank you so much for your help with everything! Given the circumstances I am very glad to have met you Mr. Carter!

Mr. James Carter is a very professional; compassionate; and knowledgeable. Great lawyer

He was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. His prices are a lot more affordable for what he offers. Mr Carter is extreamly professional throughout the entire year and half we waited. He never forgot about us. We used Mr Carter twice so far for our green card and will use again for applying for citizenship.

James is exceptional!

It is difficult to put into words how much James is appreciated. Nobody wants to be in a position were they need a lawyer- at least I do not. When I first went to James, I had felt defeated! I felt as if all the other lawyers I had went to, were looking at me like a pay check- and not listening to me. James was/is the only one to actual pay attention to me. After our initial consultation, I knew that I had found the one to represent me. In this case, he was the voice for my daughter as well. It is not often people are thanked for a job well done. Highly Recommend

Top notch service!

Choosing to dissolve a marriage is, most times, such an emotional event, as it is, choosing the appropriate attorney is a critical factor in making the transition seamless. I did my due diligence, and sought three different consultations before choosing, but I wholeheartedly feel I chose correctly! Jim was completely honest with me from day one and never set unrealistic expectations. I was always able to reach him or his secretary and get clear answers to my questions, I never felt in the dark or confused. I hope to never need his services again, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to use him as my representation.

Very Professional and helpful

Consummate Professional

Mr. Carter was nothing but professional from the very first minutes of our initial consultation to the final resolution of my case against a former employer involving unpaid salary and bonus that was due to me. Mr. Carter was understanding of my situation, knowledgeable about the applicable case law, clear about the expectations of my legal action, articulate regarding the steps that needed to be taken, and diligent in following-up with my former employer and, most importantly, with me regarding the status of my case.
