Child Support case / family law

I hired Mitch to handle an extremely difficult child support case in New Jersey for arrears that dated back to over 5 years ago and wasn’t closed out when the child turned 18; however Mitch and his team handled it effectively despite the delays due to covid and the court house. In the end I got the... result I was hoping for with affordable charges. I confidently recommend this attorney for family law issues and disregard the negative reviews from unknown people.

Great Divorce attorney

I hired Mr. Mullen for at an emotional time. He guided me through the process expertly and got me a positive and fair settlement. I don't know if the last review was legitimate but perhaps the facts of that person's case warranted nether result. My divorce was not inexpensive but Mr Mullen billed ...fairly for all the work he did. I would highly recommend him on any family law issue

support & college issues, go see him!

After a long battle with my ex, Mr. Mullen got me a great result and exceeded expectations. He allowed our son to complete his college education without worry of how he'd pay for it. For support and college related issues, I'd recommend him cause he gets results.

A waste of time and money

When you talk to him on the phone he'll tell you exactly what you want to hear however once you hire him for family law matters that all changes. The drafts for the certification and motion will have numerous mistakes and inaccuracies, after you review it and inform them of all the mistakes and inac...curacies they'll fix them, charge you for their mistakes and inaccuracies then file a motion and certification with different mistakes and inaccuracies. If you ask him to get this or that information from the other parent he'll say what for it's not needed they'll have to provide it in court guess it doesn't make sense to have as much information as possible before court. According to the billing he's the one that did all of the drafts, filed motions and certifications. The wording and specific dates he included actually hurt certain parts of the motion, that's not only my opinion but it was verified by quite a few other Lawyers. Perhaps he couldn't see a lot of $$$ signs with my case and therefore decided not to work as hard. Naturally each case is different but when you hire an Attorney they're supposed to work as hard as they can for their client not just whatever is quickest and easiest.

Definitely not recommended

Mr. Mullen seems very kind and helpful as well as knowledgeable in the initial meeting but later on everything turns up to be only ilusiones documents will always have errors of basic information (that you have already provided again and again) this is to ensure that they can charge you multiple tim...es for corrections.Expect to be charged for each call you make just for them to solve mistake that they initial made. you will then be charged for a review and sent the document for approval. Expect errors that should not be there like the dates of your cases, the docket # , kids names (all basic info you provide when you agree to contract with the attorney) you will then be charged to correct these errors and also charged for another review. Do not believe anything he tells you about what you can reasonably expect to receive in support, how much he will charge you, or how long anything will take. You can expect him to make many errors, not file motions in the time frame he says he will, and do very little to actually assist you with your needs. And races sky high your bill and doesn't even explain it for you. Doesn't truly let you know that with all his years of experience doesn't know anything of family case matters.

Admonition issued in NJ, 2015

updated on 08/07/2015

An admonition means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The Bar gives the lawyer an admonition in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Mitchell’s comment:

“This admonition was a result of my contacting a witness of the opposing party via email because he was threatening my client. It turns out the witness was represented and I should have emailed the attorney not the witness”

  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline
