I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the Sangiovanni Marchetti Law office. My experience, like others have expressed here, has been nothing short of appalling, and I believe their actions constitute unethical and unprofessional conduct. From the outset, it became clear that the ...firm's primary concern was financial gain rather than providing effective legal representation. My retainer was depleted within 48 hours, and the bill was inflated with exorbitant charges for minimal work, including two letters riddled with grammatical errors and typos. When I questioned these errors, I was then charged for the phone call. Following my objections to their unethical billing practices, I received a further bill along with a letter terminating my representation. The letter stated that one of the attorneys, Sheila Tobin (who also provided a positive review on google for the same firm she works for), did not practice the relevant area of law, and that Bianca was "too busy" with trials, despite being retained specifically for ongoing negotiations. Since then, they have failed to respond to my email requests for crucial case information, completely ignoring my case, and I am certain they have irreparably damaged my negotiation process with the entities they were paid to contact. They have failed to represent or defend my legal interests in any meaningful way. I strongly advise against using this firm and recommend seeking legal representation from a more competent and ethical law firm. We have filed a formal Ethics Grievance with the State of NJ , and to this date their office has ignored our attempts for them to return our case file with pertinent evidence and information, in an ongoing case, also a complete ethical violation of the law.

Honestly, based off the secretary you have working at your front desk, who hung up the phone on me twice, I'm not sure that I will be able to continue services with you. I've never had someone handle me with such discord, disrespect, and lack of empathy. Your assistant hung up the phone twice, ...when I simply asked her to schedule an appointment with you to ask for different terms to retain you for your services. She told me I would have to go to court by myself because there isn't enough time. When I spoke to you directly, initially you explained because court was so soon, you would simply send the court a letter saying you were representing me & that you would postpone it, if I got you the retainer. I was asking what it was monetarily take for that process, and instead of saying I'm not sure let me send an email out & see what she says, she simply legally told me what I need to do for my case, but that not even in her jurisdiction of advice that she should be giving me. I have never had to explain something to someone not once but twice, for them to ignore & disregard what I'm saying. As well as hang up the phone on me, not once but twice. This is the first line of communication in your business. Not only is it very discouraging, it is very distasteful, it is the complete opposite of how you graciously handled me as a Domestic Violence Victim, and you're a lawyer who is billed at almost $500/hr. I'm shocked that someone like this is working for you.
