Honest, Experienced, Compassionate & Caring

Mr. Defino represented me in a post-judgment matter. He is very well organized and extremely knowledgeable. He takes the time to listen to you, and offers the best and fair advice. He tells you the pros and cons of what you are up against so you are not blindsided. Best Divorce and Family Law Att...orney I have ever worked with.

Finding lawyers in the area of expertise

Easy professional to work with. We used him in our condominium complex and he had just average knowledge but made the best of it. We replaced him only because we required someone with intense knowledge in conominium law because of the lawsuits involved. For most other matters such as collections h...e did a great job.

Do it right the first time!!!!

Four years ago I found myself in an unbelievable situation. Although I was the plaintiff in a divorce that was finalized two years before, and separated two years prior to that; my financial agreement was not finalized and my second wedding was weeks away. My bitter ex-wife tried numerous attempts ...to stop the wedding and in her final attempt she held on to support checks claiming she did not receive them and tried to have me arrested for nonpayment. My fiancé at the time found Mr. Defino through her business contacts and was told “He was the best in the business and at an exceptional firm”. I had realized that this case was headed for disaster since my ex-wife was still apparently very bitter and irrational. Mr. Defino took over the case and allowed me to get through my wedding. He then made it his first priority to get a financial agreement worked out and to end the continuous abuse of the Pendente Lite support agreement that was in effect and gave my ex-wife no desire to EVER work out a reasonable financial agreement. If I had only found Mr. Defino from the beginning I truly believe my case would have not have spiraled out of control, and a financial agreement would have been in place in conjunction with the divorce agreement and my relationship with my two daughters would not be in such disarray. His ability to advise me and weed out all of the anger and emotion was remarkable. He always took my best interests to heart and represented me in court like no other. Having had two different lawyers on the same case, I can say without prejudice that Mr. Defino is truly an incredible lawyer and although my ex-wife, now eight years later still continues to be bitter and irrational and issues sometimes do arise, Mr. Defino is by my side. He is a wonderful, loyal and caring individual and truly the “Best in the Business”. In what took Mr. Defino to accomplish in six months, I wasted four years in divorce negotiations – Please don’t make the same mistake I did. Get it right the first time!!!

How to settle a divorce when one party is irrational

Two and 1/2 years ago i found mysef a defendant in a divorce proceeding. I immeadiately realized from the initial request for temporary support that this case had the potential to be risky to me on many fronts. I also quickly realized from accusations and actions from the plaintiff that emotions and ...not logic were going to dictate (or get in the way) of any future settlement discussions. Having never gone through this process before i relied on a network of professionals when conducting my search for a law firm to represent me. My selection of Mr. Defino proved to be a wise one for many reasons. I had two objectives to acomplish in my divorce;1) enter into a fair and reasonable economic arrangement and 2) maintain a generous but realistic time sharing schedule with my three children. Mr. Defino acomplished both. Whats not easy to describe in a few words was his ability to advise and negogiate when emotions and irrational behavior took center stage relalive to the divorce itself. The settlement required patience but the time spent was necessary and ultimately rewarding. Every case is somewhat different but to the extent you find yourself in need of an attorney who is both sharp, creative and adaptive i would encourage you to consider my first and only choice.
