I have been practicing law since 1977. I have specialized in family law since 1984. I am the former chair of the Family Law Committee of the Monmouth Bar Association. In 1992, I was asked by the Bar Association to revise the rules governing the Early Settlement Panel in the Monmouth vicinage of the Superior Court of NJ. The rules I revised are still being used today. I have litigated thousands of divorces, including but not limited to contested custody cases, domestic violence cases, and post-judgment applications to enforce and/or modify property settlement agreements.
Each client brings a distinct set of issues, needs and problems. I do not believe that a client's needs can be met by characterizing such issues with generalities. Rather, each need must be analyzed and a specific solution crafted to meet that need. It is the easiest excuse in the world to blame inattentive Judges, difficult adversaries or vexatious litigants for bad results. I believe a client is better represented with honesty from an attorney from the start of the case to its conclusion.

"I endorse this lawyer wholeheartedly. Joe served as an economic mediator in a hotly contested divorce in which I represented the wife. We met at his office four times, and each time, was instrumental in steering the matter towards a settlement. Joe is also highly recognized in the community as a top attorney."
"Joe is respected by judges and colleagues as an extremely knowledgeable, fair and experienced attorney. He vigorously represents his clients while still maintaining the highest level of professional standards. It is a pleasure to have a case with Joe as the opposing attorney."

Timesharing was liberal, only limited duration alimony was awarded, the house was ordered to be sold and the proceeds split, and the wife was ordered to pay $40,000 in counsel fees to my client.
