Unresponsive, at best. Cannot recommend.

Note: I review virtually everything and everybody. This is not a 'slam', but rather an honest review of what I experienced. I wish I could post a more positive review... Timetable for an expungement filing that was explained in initial calls has been blown out of the water; tripled, in fact. W...e had two identical calls at the outset of our engagement to explain my record, as he had trouble reading/understanding the charges. Perhaps he'd lost his notes from the initial call, becuase we had to regurgitate that call weeks later, which was frustrating to me. After I'd sent him all of the requested information, and I assumed the petition was filed, I was horrified to receive a call from his office several weeks later (My memory has it at 2 months, but I don't want to exaggerate) to confirm information for the filing(s) - meaning they hadn't yet filed - despite my many mentions of the sense of urgency. I continued to request update over the course of months, with none forthcoming. Last Friday, I called the office to request an update, and I was told that "he'd been planning to call" me. As it was explained to me, a ruling had come down altering the law surrounding expungements, and it was likely to negatively impact my chances of receiving said (early) expungement. NOTE: I have emails sent to him in March requesting update on the filed petition. It is now August, and I had to phone him to receive an update that he'd been planning to call me. He and his office are unresponsive at best, and I'd argue negligent with regard to returning phone calls. Forget about emails. He clearly vacations often; I have heard "He's on vacation, he call you when he returns next week" countless times. Literally, countless times. He rarely, if ever, calls me back without my having placed at least two more calls to the office the next week to remind them of my name on the little sticky note on his desk. I'm extremely surprised there is no mention of this in other reviews I see here, I have trouble believing its just me. Or perhaps I've unwittingly gone to him with something out of his realm of expertise and that explains the lack of communication and preparedness. Overall, I cannot recommend him. In every single call and communication we've had, I've explained the urgency of the matter. That I needed to file for expungement due to the fact that I was leaving a long-time employer and would likely be sending applications, or purchasing/starting a business. I went to him at least 6 months in advance and, now, a year after we first made contact, and well over 6 months after I sent him all of the required information, we're no closer than when we started.

It was a pleasure to work with Randy against the State of New Jersey. Randy also had the honor of working the Baby M. case. He is not afraid of anyone and is fearless in the courtroom."

  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
