Deeply Disappointed: A Costly and Emotionally Draining Experience

I feel compelled to share my experience with Candace Hulme and the law firm she works for, in hopes it will help others avoid the challenges I faced. After paying for multiple consultations with various attorneys, I carefully selected Rebecca Rosenthal at this firm. She acknowledged that the judge...’s prior order in my case would be difficult to overturn but assured me there was case law to support our position. We spent seven months preparing—building a strategy, gathering discovery, and establishing a strong attorney-client rapport. Then, just eight days before a pivotal court hearing, I was blindsided: Rebecca was no longer with the firm. No prior warning, no explanation. I was abruptly reassigned to Candace Hulme—without even a formal consultation. Her first communication was an email more focused on my outstanding payment than the urgent legal issues at hand. Worse still, Candace did not reach out to me at all before the hearing. I had to chase her down the day before court, at which point I was charged for the call. It felt like a deliberate move to generate billable time rather than client care. As expected, the court hearing was a disaster. Candace was unprepared, passive, and ineffective. She lacked a grasp of the case and did not advocate for me with any strength or legal acumen. After spending over $20,000, I felt completely abandoned and unrepresented. Even worse, when I tried to voice my concerns, Candace dismissed them and even questioned me—showing zero empathy or accountability. Her focus remained on billing, not resolution. I ultimately withdrew the firm’s representation, and I can confidently say it was the best decision I made. Summary: Avoid this firm if you are looking for compassionate, committed legal counsel. My experience was defined by poor communication, lack of preparation, dismissive behavior, and a feeling that I was treated as nothing more than a source of revenue. Any attempts by the firm to refute this review will be countered with documented proof.

Best attorney in NJ!!!

I have an immense respect for Jen and her practice. Jen and Cadence helped me through a very difficult jurisdictional case. She is an extremely competent, knowledgeable, respectable and honest litigator and I appreciate her ability to finally bring my case to an end. I highly recommend her and her... team!

Mrs. McCaskill is NJ's best divorce attorney!

Mrs. McCaskill provided the best solution during the divorce and mediation process and provided me with peace of mind while I was moving forward to this new stage of my life. I could not have chosen someone better to help me in my life changing situation.
