Worst of the worst and as unprofessional as they come.

The worst of the worst. An 84 year old relative called for help with her mortgage and foreclosure issues. After telling her all the things he could do and would do for her, the communication stopped. Even after she followed up with emails and calls, he didn't even have the decency to call her back, a...n 84 year old elderly woman that clearly needed guidance. Joshua made a curious comment to her that he wasn't going to make any money on this case so it was no surprise that he never called her back after he said he would get back to her to go over the next steps. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. No professional conduct whatsoever. It's one thing if you don't want to help because you're just in it for the money but at least have the decency to get back to someone so they're not sitting there as crucial days go by wondering what's going on and getting no response back after several calls and emails. This wasn't a mistake. Just a blatant disregard for someone's time and energy and misfortune. And judging by some of the other negative reviews about him, this is the same m.o. Is this really the type of person you want to fight for you? But then again, this is why lawyers have the stereotypical reputations that they do. If you know, you know. He is the epitome of that. If I could give ZERO stars, I would.

Helped me avoid foreclosure

I went to see Josh Denbeaux when my foreclosure seemed to be coming to fruition after 7 years of trying to save my home. I saw 3 attorneys before I went to see Josh. They all charged me a high consult fee and all recommended bankruptcy to save my home. I didn't get a good feeling with any of them. ...It was so discouraging that I came close to not driving 1 hour away to see Josh for his opinion. I expected more of the same shady advice. I'm so glad I pushed my depressed self to go. First of all, Josh took the time to see me at no charge and he made sure I brought the necessary docs so our meeting would be productive. Let me say that Josh was so encouraging and uplifting to me. He was honest enough to tell me that bankruptcy would not save my home, (after our meeting he referred me to see a colleague that specialized in bankruptcy/accounting who confirmed that fact, no charge to me), that there was nothing in my loan docs that was illegal and it wouldn't make sense for me to hire him. He instead encouraged me to go to court and fight (I had my court date in a few days). He said I was doing a great job for 7 years and I could do this! He advised me to tell the judge that I never had mediation, that I had completed 2 forebearance plans, that I was told my income was too high, too low (all true information that I told Josh at our meeting), basically to fight back against the BS excuses the bank was giving me for denying me a loan modification. I did just that and the Judge sided with me!!!! She cancelled the foreclosure proceedings until my mod app was reviewed (bank was trying to push it through before the app was reviewed, bums!!!) Two days later I got an offer to modify my mortgage and I saved my home!!!! I want to thank Josh Denbeaux for encouraging me when I was so close to giving up. I will always be grateful to you!!!!!!!! You showed care and concern for my plight, a genuine want to help me in my battle, which was so unlike the other attorneys I went to. So glad I took the hour drive!!!!!!!!

Professional and straight forward

I would recommend Josh Denbeaux 100%. He is straight forward, honest and pulls no punches. Having to contact an attorney is stressful enough, but having one that listens, and doesn’t waste your time with pie-in-the sky ideas is invaluable. He has a strong understanding of NJ law and will give you his... opinion - I have found him to be only professional and honest.

Would have done better representing myself.

Took payments regularly but farmed out the work to staff who were regularly MIA. Lack of communication, not told his employee handling the case quit the firm. More than once ! No replies to emails. Put up little to no legal arguments to defend me. The foreclosing bank dismissed there own case and I s...till lost my home.

Joshua Denbeaux was extremely helpful

I first went to see Joshua Denbeaux 5-6 years ago when we were threatened with foreclosure. I didn't feel hiring him at that time was our strongest position because we were in no position for attorney's fees. It's five years after our loan modification. I misunderstood the bank speak of the terms of ...the loan. He clarified it all for me, explained what will happen in the future and assured me I still have a good deal. All this in the free consultation session. I highly recommend him because he has drive and is not afraid to stand up to the banks.
