Itai Ben Shalom

I am an Attorney admitted in both Israel and New York. I moved to New York in order to advance my expertise and career by working with the brightest minds in the legal-corporate world. I currently work at the Legal Affairs Division of The Dreyfus Corporation (BNY Mellon) where I focus on various transactional aspects of investment management including the launching, managing and liquidating of mutual funds. Other areas in which I concentrate are compliance (especially with respect to SEC regulations) and mergers & acquisitions of affiliated and unaffiliated entities.

I am also busy pursuing my MBA at Baruch College – Zicklin School of Business as a part-time student. I am proud to say that I am able to maintain a high-level of performance both in my workplace and school where I currently have a 3.8 GPA.

Due to outstanding service during my first year of training in the Israeli Defense Force, I was sent to commander's class, a privilege only a fifth of my squad received. During my time as a commander I have developed skills which I leverage in my day-to-day responsibilities in the corporate world such as leadership, multi-tasking and task execution under pressure.

One of my passions is giving back to the community and I currently volunteer as a Legal Adviser at the Lennox Hill Neighborhood House. I am always on the lookout for interesting causes in which I can get involved, including with my wife who is a professional fund-raiser in the non-profit world.
