I started my career in corporate law but didn’t like the impersonal nature of the practice and decided to change direction. After a few more changes in career path, I searched for the field of law where I could have the most impact and discovered a love for special needs advocacy and planning.
It is so satisfying to help parents get to the point where they know that they can provide for their child not only during his teen and adult years, but even later in life after they were gone. I also work with my clients to establish guardianships to protect their children while giving them the amount of independence they can handle. Helping these families is truly rewarding and it has become clear that this is the field for me.
There’s nothing I love more than helping a family go from feelings of despair and guilt to feelings of relief and optimism knowing that everything is in place and they can relax and enjoy time with their family. Here are some examples of what I love most about my practice:

I have an elderly father and Beth was extremely helpful. She drafted a Living Will and Power of Attorney for my sisters and me. She also helped us find resources for his on going care.
"Beth is a dedicated and caring lawyer. She has helped some of my friends and colleagues address difficult issues and has done a fantastic job. I highly recommend Beth to anyone in need of an education lawyer to ensure that their child's educational needs are being fully met."
"Your child deserves caring and careful legal advocacy. You will find both with Beth Manes. She protects families' rights in educational settings with vigor and empathy. Beth understands the challenges faced when a child has special needs, and how to work with a school district to meet those needs. If a solution cannot be reached by agreement, Beth knows how to effectively pursue relief through all other official channels. Take some of the worry out of your life and contact her with your questions and concerns."
