Martin John Burns

Martin has more than 12 years of experience advising clients on matters related to employment and immigration law. His clients include health systems, physicians, nurses and music industry professionals. He is well versed in Form 1-9 matters and audits as well as Department of Labor and Citizenship and Immigration Services audit activity. He has a depth of experience in the complex regulations surrounding non-immigrant and immigrant visas, waiver of the two-year home residency requirement, permanent resident matters, specialty occupation/professional visas and other temporary employment categories as well as nonimmigrant and immigrant visas for extraordinary ability in the sciences, business and education. Martin also has experience as an employment and commercial litigation attorney, representing parties in various matters including non-compete, trade secret litigation and complex commercial litigation disputes involving claims for business torts and unfair trade-practice violations. At his previous firm, Martin spearheaded an employment/immigration education program to update clients on recent Department of Labor audit activities.
