I approached Mr. Haywood Wise a few weeks before my student visa extension in France (APS) was about to expire. I had gotten a job but my employers were dragging their feet with the sponsorship process. With no time to waste I contacted Martin Wise and he got back to me on all the documents I needed ...to process the work visa. Everything literally came down to the last minute and when all the documents from my employers and me were in place I spent the better part of a day with another lawyer from the firm, at the prefecture in the 17e and then finally at the centres de réception des étrangers in the 18e...However when we reached there, there were no guichets available to do a "changement du statut" which is what I needed to do...So I had to return the next day (the day after my APS expired), and basically all they gave us was an application form with a list of documents which needed to be mailed to the prefecture of my arrondissement. It was all very complicated and exhausting, and even though I have dealt with French administration for getting my student carte de sejour and my APS done; this was way more complicated and I don't think I would have had the tolerance to face everything on my own. We were there for about 40 min. all paperwork compiled by the clerk we were relieved and my wife and I were out and on our way back home.
