Great Service

I hired the services of Hayward this year to obtain a Green Card as I was moving from France to the US. From the first rendez-vous, Hayward and his team were very helpfull and clearly outlined the year long process to us and told us exactly what to expcet when dealing with Homeland Security. Haywar a...nd his team handled all correspondance with Homeland Security and it was bascially just filling out the forms and providing him with documents needed to support ones case. One year later I have a Green Card in hand. I would strongly recommend the Srvices of Hayward and his team and his fees are very reasonable.

Very grateful to Haywood Wise

I engaged Haywood to assist me with my carte sejour. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and without his help, I could never have achieved my goal of obtaining a long stay visa. I highly recommend his services.

Simply the Best and the Brightest combination of Savvy and Competence

I practice corporate and securities law, both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S. where I’ve developed strategic professional and business relationships. Over my 35 years of practice, hiring lawyers all over the world, I’ve learned how critically important it is to hire only the very best and br...ightest colleagues as local counsel. I recently engaged Haywood Wise to obtain a “Skills and Talents" Visa ("Carte Compétences & Talents") for my most important client. It’s a difficult one to obtain because it requires solid proof that you are likely to make a significant or lasting contribution, through your skills or talents, to France’s economic development or to its intellectual, scientific, cultural, humanitarian or athletic prestige. I was very happy with Haywood and his associates’ on several levels. First, he and his associates took a personal interest in the matter and really cared. Secondly, they responded promptly to my questions and concerns and communicated well. Thirdly, and most importantly, Haywood and his team had a unique combination of top-notch legal skills, experience, contacts and a practical approach that enabled them to complete the job efficiently and for reasonable compensation. Haywood Martin Wise is one of the most talented and reliable professionals with whom I have worked since becoming involved in international business years ago. I highly recommend Haywood for projects that require his special brand of savvy and competence.

Both Clever and Patient

I am not an easy client. Last year I felt a vague notion of wanting to move to Paris, but beyond my vagaries, I had nothing solid, no documents, hardly an argument -- just a whimsical hope. Over the course of several months, Haywood went out of his way to learn my case and situation, and successfully... formulated a rock solid argument. My deliveries of the required documents were flaky, at best, but Haywood patiently helped me through acquiring each and every piece I needed. It was a wonderful feeling at the consul the afternoon I delivered Haywood's arguments. The officer looked over my documents, looked up at me, and attempted to make the customary governmental rejection, but had no such utterances. A few days later I received my visa, most successfully. It was beautiful.

Immigration Assistance for non EU Same Sex Civil Parnter of an EU citizen

I was referred to Mr. Haywood Wise by the business lawyer of the company I work for here in Paris. My situation was slightly unusual, in that I was an Australian looking to obtain a carte de sejour to remain in Paris based on a UK Civil Partnership that I entered into less than 3 months ago, with m...y English Partner. Haywood understood the urgency of my case as my current visa was close to expiring, and prepared my case very quickly and efficiently, keeping me up to date via regular telephone and email contact, as well as in person. His research into our rights was extremely thorough and current, even drawing upon a relatively unheard about new EU legislation only recently passed the month before, that made the previous French legislation obsolete in my situation. I felt confident knowing he would represent me at the prefecture, as on previous visits when I went alone the Prefecture had been very unhelpful, and I was never informed about this new EU legislation. In the end it was Haywood's attention to detail to ensure our case was as well prepared as possible, his determination, and his professional and respectful manner when he accompanied me to the Prefecture, which ensured I was granted this seemingly impossible-to-get Visa. Telling the French that their national law was overruled by EU law was something requiring the greatest sensitivity and tact, which Haywood demonstrated in abundance. I have already recommended him to other friends needing help with immigration, and I would not hesitate to use his services or recommend him again. Thanks so much for your help Mr Wise, I’m absolutely thrilled!

It is true that this client's case was highly unusual, in that his situation fell exactly within the parameters of the French Decree of September 6, 2011, which transposes the European Directive from 2004 which the French administration should have been applying in regard to same sex partners in marital relationships in the EU. The result in this case establishes the fact that the administration is finally complying with European directives. Unfortunately, as regards the non-EU partners of French citizens, the administration continues to apply internal law and is thus discriminating against the partners of French citizens! This is not the first time that the French administration has favored EU member citizens over its own citizens, creating a discrepancy in treatment! In fact, recent circulars have acknowledged this discrepancy and have specifically stated that a French citizen may not claim the quality of a European citizen in order to benefit from the more favorable provisions.
