Haywood Martin Wise

I was initially unsure if I should hire an attorney to help with my French fianceé's immigration to the US. I'm very happy that we decided to hire Haywood Martin Wise. Thanks to his office's help, I didn't have to worry about details as we proceeded through the steps of the application and interview.... Haywood's staff were constantly available to us by phone and email during the entire process. They are quick to respond to us and offered a complete service all at a very competitive rate. Haywood and his colleague Karim worked diligently on my case over an extended period of time and Haywood proved his knowledge of immigration procedures, as well as his confidence and willingness to propose different approaches to the consulate and the prefecture. My case was particularly difficult... for several reasons. First was that I am an American with German residency, meaning that I am emigrating from Germany to France. Second, my profession in cinema as an independent screenplay reader is particularly difficult to sell to the authorities, as few have heard of it, it is unregulated, and just plain weird. He led the preparation of a very detailed, extensive dossier for the consulat in Francfort and thereafter he continued to provide guidance for me with regards to registering at the prefecture of police. He also took care of the first steps of registering with URSSAF. The dossier was professional, extremely well-organized, and contained so much information that I could use it at many of the bureaucratic steps that came after the consulat for which it was prepared. Just the mere sight of it had the local authorities ready to grant me paper. The process was long but only because of the authorities, not because of Haywood and crew. Without them I would have gone astray at any number of points on the road. I would highly recommend Haywood and his team to handle even the more bizarre immigration cases, and most certainly the simpler ones that just need some tweaking or expediting. Bon courage!

I have started talking to Mr Haywood Wise about 4 years ago, when i intended immigrating for the first time. Since that time, my situation has changed more than once and he was always patiently advising me what do i need to do, and how do i need to do it. So, we would exchange ten or more letters, ...than i would abandon the plan for a year, than i would come back with another plan, we would exchange another ten letters and so on, for 4 years. At the end, i have made up my mind and we have proceeded to my application for Visa de Long Sejour which was successfully completed last week. I was nervous at all times since i found Mr Wise on the internet by simple search "Immigration to France" and was always afraid that not knowing my lawyer face to face would cause me problems down the line. But, it didn't turn out to be that way. I was surprised that every time during those years he would reply to questions, sometimes even sending e-mails at 11 at night, and the issue of fees never came up. He would respond every time, no matter how stupid mu question was, and he would advise and guide me. In couple of cases of extreme emergency i had, when i phoned him to do something for me urgently, he would offer everything he had at his disposal, which made my situation much easier. Once we started the procedure for visa, he prepared the file quickly and assisted me even while on vacation. I'm leaving for France in 2 days for a stay that i have dreamed for most of last ten years, and i must say that Mr Haywood Wise is a huge reason why this was done very smoothly.

I approached Mr. Haywood Wise a few weeks before my student visa extension in France (APS) was about to expire. I had gotten a job but my employers were dragging their feet with the sponsorship process. With no time to waste I contacted Martin Wise and he got back to me on all the documents I needed ...to process the work visa. Everything literally came down to the last minute and when all the documents from my employers and me were in place I spent the better part of a day with another lawyer from the firm, at the prefecture in the 17e and then finally at the centres de réception des étrangers in the 18e...However when we reached there, there were no guichets available to do a "changement du statut" which is what I needed to do...So I had to return the next day (the day after my APS expired), and basically all they gave us was an application form with a list of documents which needed to be mailed to the prefecture of my arrondissement. It was all very complicated and exhausting, and even though I have dealt with French administration for getting my student carte de sejour and my APS done; this was way more complicated and I don't think I would have had the tolerance to face everything on my own. Martin, Karim and the other lawyers are all very helpful and should I ever need any immigration help in the future...I now know where to go..
