Did a great job--he had the specialized skill set that we really needed.

Rich's broad range of experience in real estate deals really made a difference for us. If it's just a simple closing, Rich could do that for you with his eyes closed. Ours was not an easy case. It was complicated by negotiations with creditors, a time crunch, and family issues. We'll be using h...im again, soon, and can recommend him to others without reservation.

Short sale

Richard DeVita was recommended to me to effect a short sale after an apartment I had owned in New Jersey and vacated in 2010 had been sold on several times to different loan companies that had refused to foreclose or agree a DIL and were charging excessive fees. He resolved the issues quickly and eff...ectively and the sale was finally closed today. I echo the review by Deborah on this website.

Richard Devita

Richard was my lawyer for a home short sale. He was chosen for me by my realtor because my lawyer was unable to do the job. Richard was very thorough through out the whole process. All documents were sent to me when he received them and he processed all aspects of the sale in a timely manner. He ...was given power of attorney to contact the mortgage company and he apprised me of all communications as I needed to know them. I was nervous about the whole process of the short sale, but Richard was always able to calm my fears with information that he would get for me after I questioned him. He was very easy to work with and I would use him again if needed.

Short Sale

My wife and I reached out to Richard for help in our short sale based on a recommendation from a realtor, that is better to have someone manage the process than go it alone. It was without a doubt the best decision. Richard guided us through the difficult shorts sale maze and negotiated with all part...ies (1st lien, 2nd lien and HOA) to ensure we were able to get the shorts sale approved and closed. We are grateful that Richard was able to help us put this challenging homeownership situation behind us. We highly recommend Richard!

Short sale

Richard guided us through a lengthy, difficult short sale process of my wife's condominium. There were a number of times that an expected deal fell through, when buyers backed out at the last minute. The bank was also not customer friendly or easy to deal with. We had previously pursued this sale... with multiple other attorneys, none of which were successful. Because of his experience and skill, Rich was able to successfully negotiate with the bank and close the deal. My wife and I are very grateful to Richard, and would highly recommend his services to anyone!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
