I guess I just wasn't worth the bother...

Needed some simple advice to review an out of state order and have it moved to Connecticut. Victor took my money (twice), asked me to send him a document to review and act upon, but he (and his assistant) then failed to respond to several phone calls and emails when I tried to follow up. Victor see...ms to know his stuff, but is clearly not interested in the small stuff. (who is, I guess?) Many months later and I am no further ahead...trying to work it out on my own...

Child custody case

I used Vic for a custody battle in new haven and was over charged and had less them stellar results in the end I was even sued by Vic and had a lean put on my house by him this is not an attack just facts even the attorney that was hired as a Guardian at Leitem for my child was in agreement that hi...s fees were way over priced needless to say in the end I did get my child back on my own after releasing Vic but still got sued by him and had a lean put on my house to insure that he got paid what he did not deserve

Mr. Robles: would you continue to work for your employer if he refused to pay you after showing up for work day after day, week after week? Would you skip paying your mortgage on your house and not expect consequences from the bank? Not likely, yet that’s what you expected of me. . You retained me because you wanted custody of your child whose mother had a history of substance abuse and you believed that the child was not safe in her custody. . I devoted more than 24 hours of rendered services – the equivalent of three full work days- on your case, including 13 hours in court and many other hours writing and filing motions, and hours on the telephone with you and the child’s attorney, all by way of ensuring that you obtained custody of your child. . As a result of my services, you got custody of your child but you tried hard to avoid paying me for my services. . I sent you the first invoice in April, 2013 which you ignored and made no payments on and made no complaints about my services. Three months later, I sent a second invoice in July, 2013, which you ignored as well and made no payments on and made no complaints. One year later, in August, 2014, I sent another invoice and you ignored that one, as well. . I referred the matter to an attorney as a last resort to get you to respond and hopefully discuss any disagreement with my invoice and come to a mutually agreed balance and payment arrangement but you ignored him, as well. You gave the attorney no choice but to go to court and in early 2015 the judge ordered you to pay a mere $35 per week over three years. You ignored the court order, as well, for over a year and a half. Only after you ignored everyone and every attempt to come to an amicable resolution over nearly three years, did the lawyer take the drastic step of filing a judgment lien. And it was only after that that you responded and paid. I received less than what you owed—but you also paid more than you had to. If only you had just been more responsive a lot sooner, all this could have been avoided.

Less than Stellar Results... Bottom Line.

Victor knows his way around the law books. From a Non-Attorney perspective things seem to happen the long way around with a lot of extra hearings and aggravation that literally have no point. Victor is a very capable and knowledgeable Attorney fighting an up hill battle for most of us, yet I can n...ot help feeling slighted and semi ripped off in the process. He is very busy, this however is no excuse for lack of preparation for a hearing... preparation that I have PAID for... a Hearing that I am PAYING for. Bottom line is, he has the knowledge, he has the skill, yet when confronted with these concerns will bail on you. The Potential is there Victor. You could Shine like no other. Not one person in that Court House has more knowledge of the law than you. Slow down, use it like we all know you can.

If you are a former client, I am sorry you had a less than optimal experience. If there is anything I can do, please identify yourself and call me. However, your words aimed at encouraging professional improvement are not typical of a former client who is dissatisfied and leads me to believe that you are someone else with an agenda; perhaps a fellow member of the Bar who finds my methods too aggressive as I fight for my clients' rights. I've heard that criticism before from some opposing counsel who wish that I would just play ball and settle. In either instance, hiding behind the cloak of anonymity suggests that your intent is merely to cause harm and not to accomplish anything productive.

Happy Customer--

Atty. Cavallo was able to direct a difficult divorce. Patient listener when needed but agressive when representing me and my future! Was available to answer "what if" questions and had the knowlege and experience to back up his advice. Happy to have had Atty. Cavallo to represent me through proces...s. It wasn't finished with the decree--he has been available for follow up advice needed for smooth transition.

Couldn't have asked for more

Mr. Cavallo is the second matrimonial attorney I have engaged. My divorce was complicated and included my ex- wife's desire to move to California and take our children with her. My first counsel allowed me to fight a losing case until I had depleted my funds and had to settle - losing each point of t...he case. I wish counsel would have advised me to cut my losses and settle from the beginning. My child support payments were set at a level at which I could not succeed in paying all of the money. I just didn't earn enough. My ex- wife sued me from California in the Bridgeport Superior Court - accusing me of being a year behind in payments. I answered the suit pro se. When I understood the seriousness of the suit and the potential penalties which included incarceration, I knew I needed counsel. I found Attorney Cavallo through one of his advertisements. His ad stayed that he was a "father's rights" attorney. I met with him and shared my story. I was truly concerned about what could possibly happen in court. He reviewed my file and assured me that he could fix the errors committed in the first adjudication of my divorce. Mr. Cavallo was able to re-open my original judgement and show that, based on my income, not only was I NOT behind in my payments but in fact had overpaid! He was able to have my entire payment history reviewed and reset at the proper level. Also, he arranged for me to stop paying her directly and pay her through the State. I was never late or behind again and successfully supported my children until they reached adulthood. The process took about a year in total. Attorney Cavallo and his staff kept me completely informed every step of the way and led me to a successful resolution of my case. A side benefit of his work on my behalf was that my children's mother and I were able to develop a cordial relationship once these issues were settled. My children directly benefited from this. In fact, after my last payment was made, my ex- wife thanked me for never being late with child support! I can neither thank Attorney Cavallo nor recommend him highly enough for all he has done on my behalf. Working with him was a great experience of rectifying a bad situation. His Professionalism, punctuality and performance were above and beyond anything for which I could have hoped. Thank you Mr. Cavallo!!
