I really appreciated all of Attorney Gersten's help with my divorce because of the emotional turmoil I was experiencing at that time -- she was my champion and there to fight for me. Her billing was accurate and fair and I would receive a statement every time she did substantial work on my case. H...er office staff is very responsive to my questions when Attorney Gersten was not available. She is definitely a no-nonsense type of lawyer who had the respect of her peers and the judges. When you start going through the divorce proceeding, you can't imagine how difficult it will be.... it is one of the worst experiences. Unfortunately, that was my situation but I was very fortunate to have Karen Gersten represent me. She was thorough, skillful, professional, assertive and she was a...ble to chisel away issues and provide clarity and direction to me. There was a time in the case when the court-appointed attorney decided that my child should go to my ex-wife's school district and I really did not feel that the decision was in the best interest of my daughter. Atty Gersten was able to bring in an expert witness that could help provide objectivity and truly distinguish between the two school districts. Based on the additional evidence and the recommendation from the expert witness, the court-appointed attorney reversed their decision and it was a real "win" for my daughter. As a side note, I did have another attorney that represented me early on in my divorce and that attorney was a disappointment. When you are going through the divorce process, it is a challenge with deciding who you will have represent you as an attorney and you want to select an attorney who will look at the best interest for you and your children. I would certainly select Atty Gersten to represent you in a divorce or custody issue.... if you don't then she might be going against you. She is that good!

Before choosing Attorney Karen S. Gersten, I took interviews with two other divorce attorneys. But neither, I felt, had the breadth of knowledge or experience that Karen exhibited. On a monthly basis, she would mail me a clear, concise billing statement that delineated a breakdown of the tasks she accomplished and their respective charges per the time consumed by each. These charges would be peeled off (subtracted from) the initial down payment fee and at the bottom of the statement, the balance remaining would appear. Because she specializes strictly in divorce cases, I would not hesitate to recommend her services to any friend who is seeking a divorce. Karen is not a rollover-and-die type of attorney, she is a fighter. Choosing her, one can’t go wrong.
