I graduated from Fairfield University, Fairfield, Connecticut in 1976, majoring in English and receiving a broad based Jesuit education. After graduation I attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, where I was taught to speak and understand Russian language. I served in the United States Army as a Russian language interpreter, evenutally stationed in Augsburg, Germany from 1979-1981. Upon discharge from the Army, I entered the University of Connecticut School of Law, where I was second in my class, receiving numerous academic awards, and becoming a member of the Connecticut Law Review. Upon graduation from law school in 1985, I served as clerk to the Hon. Joseph F. Dannehy of the Connecticut Supreme Court from 1985 to 1986 assisting in the writing and preparation of judicial opinions. Following that I became employed with a large (200+ lawyer) corporate firm in Hartford, CT, but after a couple of years I realized that my heart was with injured plaintiffs and I joined a well-known personal injury firm where I remained for 12 years. In 2000 I decided to go out on my own, where in addition to personal injury law I practiced criminal, family, motor vehicle, unemployment, agency, juvenile, probate, medical malpractice, and other types of law. This experience has given me a wider appreciation of many different practice areas. In 2008 I formed the law firm of Dressler Strickland with my partner Jeffrey Dressler, where we now limit our practice to the areas of personal injury, motorcycle, car and truck accidents, fall downs, uninsured motorist cases, pedestrian cases, malpractice, and other types of injuries. We have a staff of 32 paralegals, legal assistants and lawyers, many of whom are also fluent in Spanish. Our office is less than a five minute walk from Hartford Superior Court, Hartford, Connecticut.
We look forward to serving you and your needs.

Human touch !
Gary is very well versed in the law and is handling my case very well. Very prompt to return a call or email and answer any questions. I have great confidence in his ability and work ethic.
"I endorse this lawyer. Gary is a very skilled and talented trial attorney. He has a comprehensive knowledge of the law and is very generous with his time with his colleagues. There isn't any kind of case he can't try - Gary is awesome."
"Atty. Stickland and I were both actively involved in the cutting edge legal issue (at the time of this post) of whether our clients were forced to pay back the full worker's compensation lien or whether our client would benefit from the credit recently enacted by the legislature. The issue is not fully settled yet, and I am happy that lawyers like atty Strickland battle for our client's rights in Court. We need to get favorable court decisions on this issue early on in the process. That way all of our clients benefit in the future."
