Out Standing Experience

I can’t say enough about my experience with Mr. Sherman. I had a DUI and a firearm was involved as well. Mr. Sherman assured me he could get me back to where I was prior to the incident. The process was explained to me by Mr. Sherman every step of the way. I had my pistol permit reinstated in a timel...y manner. I highly recommend Mr. Sherman if you are in a similar predicament. Thanks again Mr. Sherman! Steve

Helped me with my pistol permit! A++++

I was arrested in 2007 for insurance fraud and subsequently received accelerated rehabilitation. I successfully completed it and life went on. Fast forward to 2024, I applied for my pistol permit and there was a question “have you ever been arrested?” I didn’t know how to answer legally so I ...contacted Ralph. Ralph ran my criminal record for a nominal fee to ensure I can answer correctly on my permit application. I came back squeaky clean, and was instructed by Ralph to answer “No”. I submitted my application and received my license to carry permit today, thanks to Ralph! If you’re not sure, have Ralph run your criminal history to be sure. Otherwise, it’s an arrestable offense to “lie” (or be incorrect) on an application! Thanks again Ralph!

Exactly what I needed

Attorney Sherman was the correct person to help with my permit appeal. He knew everything about the process from start to finish. No need to look anywhere else for permit or revocation appeal legal counsel.

Great 2A attorney

I was denied my CCW permit locally so I had to appeal. After listening to my situation Mr Sherman took my case. A couple days before the hearing I went to Mr Shermans office so we could discuss what I should expect from the appeals board. My case was not easy but Mr Sherman made it seem like it was.... He is very experienced and knows the appeals process very well. He was prepared with all the details of my case, made great points on my behalf, and asked pointed questions of me while on the stand that helped paint the right picture of my situation. I won my appeal by unanimous vote even though the opposing side brought a high profile government attorney with them. I also witnessed Mr Sherman pleading 3 other cases on the same day. He won 2 of them and got a continuation on the 3rd (which was the right move in my opinion). Other appeals that day did not have a lawyer present and did not go so well. If you are appealing a CCW permit decision I would recommend using an attorney, and based on my experience, I would recommend Mr Sherman.

Criminal case and Pistol permit revocation

Ralph was straight forward from the very beginning. He didn’t sugar coat our situation at all. He dealt with criminal charges that he got nolled as well as getting my pistol permit back only weeks after. I would highly recommend him as he went out to bat for me 100%

"Whenever a client has a firearms-related issue in their case, the first thing I ask myself is "What would Ralph think?" There is simply no attorney in the state whom I would trust more to advise me on issues involving the details of Connecticut's gun laws. His experience in court and before administrative boards, his in-depth knowledge of firearms law, and his openness to help his fellow attorneys navigate these constantly shifting waters are all reasons why I keep Ralph at the top of my referrals list."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
