CT Pistol Permit Revocation Appeal

I called Attorney Ralph D. Sherman for help in getting my CT Pistol Permit reinstated. I had researched online and and found his credentials and experience in the appeal process unparallelled. He successfully guided me through the process and my permit was reinstated. I am sure that I would not hav...e been reinstated without his help. I have had experience with lawyers in civil matters related to construction and found most lawyers are reactive rather than proactive. In other words they show up unprepared without knowledge of the issues. Atty. Sherman knows what is important and is totally prepared. His reasonable fee is well worth his representation. I highly recommend Atty. Ralph D. Sherman.

pistol permit help

I used Mr. Sherman when east Hartford denied my pistol permit for the most spurious of reasons...Being frustrated yet a profound NRA member they referred me to Mr.Sherman. I cannot tell you enough how good of an attorney Mr Sherman is. First and foremost he knows the gun laws of Connecticut probably ...better than all of politicians and law enforcement individuals of Connecticut combined.. He will walk you though every step of the appeal process and you immediately feel like you have the right person on your side . Also , while i waited for my appeal i check the court records regularly to see the success of his cases... and he more often than not got positive results. His prices don't match the level of service it exceeds them.. He is a top notch attorney !!!!!

Handled my case very well from start to finish

I hired Atty. Sherman to help me with my pistol permit. My permit had been revoked by the state police. He got me through the entire appeal process. He was very effective at the hearing in front of the Board of Firearms Permit Examiners. There is no way I could have done this by myself. Attorney Sher...man knew the law, the board, and the technical side of firearms. Another client who posted a negative review here makes no sense. He says Attorney Sherman expected him to defend himself at the hearing, which he lost, and then, he claims, he got the permit back on his own. So the client was ineffective at defending himself at the hearing, but he got his permit back on his own? Sounds like BS. I have watched Attorney Sherman in CT-N videos of the hearings. He knows how to handle these hearings. But sometimes he does get a client who sticks his foot in his own mouth so badly that no one could possible take the client's foot out. Probably the negative reviewer falls into that category.

Pistol Permit Defense

This lawyer takes your fee but when at a hearing on front of the Board is not effective expecting you the client to defend yourself. He claims is relation with Detective Mattson will make the process go smoothly. After Being denied by the Board I got my Permit back on my own I would not recomend him ...at all. Unfortunately he was recommend by CT sportman, and the NRA they were wrong. Don't waste your money ..he also will not work on the appeal. After i engaged him i found out that other folks that used him had like experiences and lost their permit as well.

Concerned with what is easy, not what is right.

Ralph was referred to me by the CT Bar Association after calling the lawyer referral line. I was looking for an attorney after having my permit revoked for criticizing the process. Ralph seemed more interested in defending the unconstitutional permitting racket and its unconstitutional review board t...hen the rights of citizens of the Constitution State. In my opinion, this is just a job for him. There may be the appearance of him being "successful" in reversing these violations but I think he has just found a lane for himself to monetize the infringement without addressing its root cause. My interaction with Ralph gave me the impression that he will not fight for your fight to keep and bear arms with vigor and that he has built a comfortable life around the status quo as it relates to the 2nd Amendment & Connecticut.

Well, this negative review (from someone who never hired me!) just goes to show that the reviews on this website are real. This person told me his pistol permit was revoked. (He didn't say it was revoked "for criticizing the process.") He said he contacted me because he would like to get his permit back. I told him we’ll take his case to the permit appeal board. Then he told me he believes the board is corrupt. I told him, if that’s what you believe, then I don’t think I’m the right attorney for you. I also told him, I wouldn’t have been able to work with the permit board for three decades if I didn’t believe it’s a fair and honest board. I told him I wished him the best of luck with his case. He responded by posting this review. If you're wondering if I "fight" for people's rights, go to the CT-N TV website and watch some videos of recent permit hearings.

"Whenever a client has a firearms-related issue in their case, the first thing I ask myself is "What would Ralph think?" There is simply no attorney in the state whom I would trust more to advise me on issues involving the details of Connecticut's gun laws. His experience in court and before administrative boards, his in-depth knowledge of firearms law, and his openness to help his fellow attorneys navigate these constantly shifting waters are all reasons why I keep Ralph at the top of my referrals list."
