I hired Attorney Block for a landlord tenant dispute approximately 2 years ago. Initial consultation went fine. I felt comfortable with his knowledge and decided to proceed with his representation. At the time of the consult I supplied him with several pieces of my own research on the matter, along w...ith official documents I had acquired. Shortly after contact was not consistent. Several times he claimed to have sent me emails I never received. Then I happened to look up the case online and noticed the Friday before that we had a court date on Monday that he had never informed me of. When i contacted him about it he informed me he was aware of the date and was out of town but would see me there. I then asked if he thought we should discuss the case before then and he firmly said that if there was no new information he didn't feel it was necessary. When we arrived at court that Monday he was apparently unprepared. He had none of the research I had provided him on the case. He only had a quick printout he had done from wikipedia. Several pieces of skewed evidence were provided by the other side which he quickly glanced at without showing me at all. One of these receipts was for a floor that originally was painted with regular household paint being professionally sanded and refinished. Only after I started shoving papers at him in front of the judge did he provide any relevant evidence that partially helped my case. While the case I had was not a clear cut situation, Attorney Block's failure to do any research, Stay in contact, and apparent loss of interest after getting paid ensured a loss. I would not recommend anyone to use him in the future.
