Unprofessional and incompetent

Extremely unprofessional and lacking in competence. Instead of offering knowledgeable legal guidance, he resorted to bullying tactics, name-calling, and unconstructive behavior. He appeared unfamiliar with basic legal principles that should be second nature in his area of practice. Also, he encourag...ed unnecessary legal actions, seemingly to prolong the case and increase fees rather than prioritize his client’s best interests. I would strongly advise others to seek representation elsewhere.

I am very sorry to hear that this was your experience. I have no idea who this is and I would encourage you to reach out to the office and discuss whatever your issues were with me directly so that I can try to help remedy whatever the issue for you was. Unfortunately, though, I doubt this was from a client as there is no name calling or bullying tactics with my clients - that is just not something that would ever happen. I do suspect this is someone who was on the other side of a case and I believe I may know who it is, which was an unrepresented individual who made the matter I was working on a total disaster. If I am wrong, though, and if this review is from a former client, please reach out and talk to me so I can know what the issue was. Regardless, I am very sorry you had a bad experience. That is the exact opposite of what I strive to provide for any and all clients of mine.

Ezra is the best.

I'm not sure this space is enough to justify how much Ezra and his team have done for me and my family. I first reached out to Ezra in July of 2024, more than a year into my extremely high conflict divorce case. I reached out to him when no one was even listening to me, let alone helping me, and as a... mom I was desperate for help. He heard me, and immediately went to battle for me and my family. He fought, relentlessly, for us and at the end of our very long case, we prevailed and my child is safe. Knowing that Ezra and his team will continue to be there for us and immediately start the fight again as needed brings me an overwhelming since of relief and faith that things really will be ok now. I truly could not be more happy or grateful.

Patient, kind, and thoughtful

Ezra and Kayla were wonderful to work with. They took the time to hear me and understand my concerns and my case. They were always kind and patient and well organized.

The Best Family Law Attorney in Maine

Ezra Willey is an outstanding attorney who truly knows family law inside and out. He is not only highly competent and fierce in the courtroom, but also honest, ethical, and deeply committed to doing what’s right. Ezra and his team go above and beyond—keeping me informed every step of the way and alwa...ys making me feel supported. I’ve also had the privilege of working with his father, Larry, and together they bring unmatched knowledge, integrity, and compassion. I cannot recommend Ezra and his firm enough.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
