"I attended a presentation of Peter’s on funding irrevocable insurance trusts. Peter had a unique situation in which the annual exclusions available within a trust were less than the amount of the yearly premium for the insurance. This resulted in the possibility of his client having a taxable gift each year. Peter explained the tax and trust rules involved and then presented two methods - through either a part loan part gift or a non-equity collateral assignment – that one could utilize in order avoid making a taxable gift. Both strategies were creative ways explained in a straightforward manner that furthered his client’s objectives in a tax-efficient manner. During the presentation, Peter not only displayed excellent professionalism and creativity in tax planning, but he was also a very eloquent speaker.
