I was actually working with my first attorney and Michelle knew about my case through a common friend and indirectly influenced me that my current attorney is not doing good Job as expected in my case. I am not sure if she has ever done any divorce cases but she promised me a fair and good representa...tion and made a commitment to not do double billing with me. Since I was going through a reference and trusted her and her partner to take my representation. During our intake she introduced me her partner Attorney Jennifer Lamanna. I assumed that they work together or in parallel but did not know at that time that I will be double billed for the same hour and same discussion which I found out much later when I saw my first invoice. She did exactly what she promised me not to do above. If you want to waste your hard earned money, get insulted, threatened and get your case compromised then go ahead and hire attorney Michelle. She and her partner Attorney Jennifer Lamanna will trick you and will win your confidence in the beginning. She will call you late in the night at 9 pm asking to give a fat check towards advance fee tomorrow by scaring you that "what if" the judge can rule and give all your marital assets to your spouse, therefore hurry up and give the check tomorrow (Saturday). I resisted asking her to send me the invoice for my first large sum of paid retainer. She will insist and you have no choice but to comply as you life hangs in her hand. Knowing that I was vulnerable, emotional wreck she betrayed my trust and was rude and disrespectful at times, threatened me to withdraw my case by calling me at 5.30 am in the morning, bulling me to settle the case against my wife against on unfavorable term. I remember she said to me once on a phone call that " You want divorce or your money (assets)" . On one occasion to win my trust she shouted at opposing attorney and got into unnecessary loud arguments with my Spouse in the court premises. My spouse threatened to complain about her at BBB and on the very next court date she quietly met alone with my soon to be x-spouse ( as my spouse confirmed in the text to me). Attorney Michelle herself told me that my spouse gave her a hug and requested to stop my divorce altogether. Her partner was upset that she shared her private meeting with my spouse. I noticed after she met my spouse her behavior changed towards me and my case and she and her partner started ignoring me and my case with long period of no communication. Even when I have asked her to stop working on my case she and her partner kept billing me after that in retaliation for next 20 + days. I have documented all there wrong doing and going to file a complain to the Bar counsel for partial refund on my $25000 fee paid to them for insult, threats and unprofessional work. God bless them and their practice as these unethical and crooked lawyers do not care for clients who are vulnerable, emotional wrecks and suffering from the hands of their own spouses and bring bad name to this profession. I also found out that her partner reached out to my current divorce attorney and tried to influence him and my case in retaliation as I reviewed her partner on AVVO. I am taking this very seriously so that other innocent clients who are looking for justice shall not get into her trap. I will ask for relief from Probate and Family court and with Bar council. Thank God there are still good and ethical attorneys who understand my pain and are willing to fight for justice and ethical treatment of the clients.
