Ana Carolina Clavijo is an Associate Attorney in the Immigration practice at Brooks Law Firm, where she focuses primarily on removal defense and Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) cases. She works closely with clients to develop strategic case plans and represents them throughout immigration proceedings, guiding them through a process that can often feel complex and intimidating.
As the daughter of immigrants, Ana Carolina has a deeply personal connection to immigration law. Her path through college and law school was shaped by years working in the restaurant industry, where she witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by hardworking individuals striving to build better lives for their families. That experience inspired her to dedicate her legal career to giving immigrants a fighting chance in a system that can often feel stacked against them.
Ana Carolina earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, Political Science, and Economics from UMass Boston before attending Suffolk University Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor in International Law and Legal Studies in 2024. During law school, she served as a Staff Member and later Managing Editor of the Journal of Health and Biomedical Law, and trained as a Certified Student Attorney with Suffolk University's Immigration Clinic in Boston, gaining direct experience representing immigration clients under faculty supervision. She built additional hands-on legal experience as a legal intern with the Law Offices of Rachel L. Rado in Boston, as a bilingual legal intern with the De Novo Center for Justice and Healing in Cambridge, and as a bilingual volunteer with the Boston Court Service Center, where she supported Spanish-speaking litigants navigating the court system.
Since joining Brooks Law Firm as an Associate Attorney in the Immigration department in December 2024, Ana Carolina has focused on removal defense and Special Immigrant Juvenile cases, working to develop strategic, individualized case plans for clients facing some of the most difficult and high-stakes proceedings in immigration law. She takes great pride in her professional milestones, including securing her first bond grant for a detained client — an achievement that reflects her commitment and tenacity in fighting for clients' freedom and future in the United States. One of the most memorable moments in her career came when she accompanied a client to an Adjustment of Status interview that resulted in the client being granted permanent residency on the spot, an outcome that continues to inspire her work today.
Ana Carolina's approach to client relationships is hands-on and communicative. She makes it a priority to check in regularly with clients — whether by phone or text — to ensure they feel supported and informed at every stage of their case. Fluent in Spanish, she is especially attentive to the needs of Spanish-speaking immigrant clients navigating the U.S. immigration system, and lives by a principle often attributed to Benjamin Franklin: "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today," a motto that shapes her proactive, responsive approach to casework.
Ana Carolina's key piece of advice for anyone navigating immigration matters is not to believe everything they hear or read — given the amount of misinformation circulating about immigration law, she emphasizes the importance of seeking professional legal counsel tailored to each individual's specific case and circumstances.
Outside of work, Ana Carolina is an avid fan of Star Wars and Disney, and enjoys tending to her plant collection and reading in her free time.
