Cathy A. Marino

Attorney Cathy Marino is a trusted family law attorney known for her compassionate, personalized approach and long-standing dedication to the Winthrop community. With more than 30 years of experience, she has represented hundreds of clients in Massachusetts courts—including arguments before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Her practice has been built on client referrals, and she is frequently entrusted as Executor of wills and Trustee of complex trusts. Over the course of her career, she has also been appointed by the courts as Guardian Ad Litem, Trustee, Master, and Receiver in complex divorce matters. Her experience spans criminal, civil, bankruptcy, probate, and all areas of domestic relations, with both trial and settlement success.

Appointed in 1989 by Governor William Weld, Attorney Marino served for twenty years as a Public Administratrix for Suffolk County. She has developed respected, long-term relationships with the judiciary, bar, and court staff across Suffolk and Middlesex Counties.

A lifelong Winthrop resident, Attorney Marino graduated from Winthrop High School in 1981, Villanova University in 1985 (Political Science, with minors in Economics and Philosophy), and Boston University School of Law in 1988, where she was an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar. She was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1989 and opened her own full-service practice in Winthrop in 1995.

Active in the community, Attorney Marino has served on the Winthrop School Committee and Advisory Board, as a Town Meeting Member, and on the Board of Elections. She is also a member of the American, Massachusetts, and Boston Bar Associations.
