Experienced divorce attorney for high net worth individuals

I hired Steve as I had gotten a referral that he was the best for divorce cases involving complex compensation and high net worth individuals, with alimony and custody issues at stake. Steve has exactly the approach I was looking for. He's clearly not motivated by increasing his billable hours, he simply wants to steer you towards the best and most efficient outcome for your divorce. He understood the issues quickly, was very adept at advising me on what my best options were, and was realistic about when to compromise vs when to hold my ground. Divorce is a terrible experience to live through for most anyone, but I am very happy I chose Steve to guide me through the mediation and legal process. Steve has also been readily available and responsible post-divorce, as any misc issues or questions with my ex have arisen.

I have extensive experience in representing clients in complex financial issues relating to divorce such as business and real estate valuation, structuring alimony and child support payments to maximize income tax deductibility, and properly analyzing the tax implications when dividing sizeable marital assets. Highly Recommended

Great legal counsel.

Steve Gurdin represented me in a complaint for modification of alimony under the durational limits of the Alimony Reform Act. My ex spouse hired an aggressive firm which seemed bent on taking the case to trial. Due to Steve's thorough preparation, we were able to convince the other side to settle out of court, saving a lot of time, money and anguish. Steve was very professional throughout the proceedings, and was a pleasure to work with. I recommend him without reservation.

Excellent Quality and Service

Steve was a real pleasure to work with. He was recommended to me by someone who also used his services. He came to the table with years of experience that helped me understand the unfamiliar and complicated process of family law which set me at ease from our first meeting. Steve was very organized and prepared in all of my dealings with him. I had a drawn out case over the course of 18 months, yet Steve stayed in touch and up to date on my case the entire time. I would highly recommend Steve to anyone looking for a highly intelligent and effective lawyer to represent them in a case in Family and Probate court. Practical & realistic

Steve efficiently and effectively converted conceptual sticking points into practical dollar implications in a way that made decision making significantly easier. While opposing council was taking an approach to generate legal fees and hassle, Steve pointed out where arguments would be more expensive in fees than I might recover so we could just move on. By helping to frame the boundaries and not get caught up in minutae, and by minimizing drama, it was easier to get to a deal.

Very glad I hired Steve.

He came highly recommended by an attorney friend of mine who used him in his own divorce. I am very glad I hired him to represent me in my own divorce. His counsel was invaluable at every step of the process. There was a contentious issue at the start of my divorce and I know that Steve's reputation alone probably steered the other party to give in on that central issue and not fight. I always found the billing very reasonable. I always enjoyed watching Steve interact with opposing counsel or in court because he was just so good. At our final court date my wife's attorney (the Plaintiff!!!) even deferred to Steve to present a summary of the divorce and Divorce Agreement. I don't know how often that happens. At the end of the day we came to a very fair settlement without undue expense, an outcome that appeared very unlikely at the start of the divorce. Steve comes with my unreserved recommendation.

Steve Gurdin

Steve is an outstanding lawyer. I had a very difficult divorce situation. Steve approached it with a great deal of focus, skill and finesse. Most importantly, he is a problem solver. He knew when to push hard against opposing counsel when they were taking ridiculous positions, but also when to push back at me when I was taking unproductive positions, to get us to a reasonable outcome in a cost-effective manner. I have been practicing law for over 20 years, and my practice includes a small amount of family law and probate law. As a result, I know dozens of family and probate lawyers. I can't stress enough how much Steve's knowledge of my rights, as well as his desire to make sure my best interest was always at the forefront meant to me when I needed it most. With his help, I was able to stabilize my two daughter's everyday life by proving to a judge that their choice to take residence with their father was warranted. Avoid Divorce if you can, but if you can't, hire Steve Gurdin

Steven Gurdin represented me in a contentious and drawn-out divorce that involved complicated assets of significant value. It was a painful process, one that I never imagined would happen, and one that I would never want to have happen again. But when I look back on the results, I know that I made the right decision by choosing Steve. He made the process less painful, less expensive, and ultimately steered the outcome to terms that I was more than willing to accept. I met with several potential attorneys when I was preparing to file for divorce. Steve impressed me with his knowledge and experience of how the divorce process works, and his interest and attention to my situation.
