Biography
Ken DeMoura is a founding partner of DeMoura|Smith LLP, a Boston-based law firm. He is an accomplished trial attorney and counselor to entrepreneurs and businesses. He appears before all state and federal courts in Massachusetts. Ken handles a wide range of matters including commercial disputes, product liability, employment discrimination and wrongful termination, copyright, partnership, banking, construction, professional malpractice, and bankruptcy cases. He has handled over thirty arbitration matters and has tried dozens of cases to verdict. He also serves as an arbitrator on commercial matters.
As a business law counselor, Ken provides legal advice on business formation, acquisitions, joint ventures, intellectual property, banking, and contract drafting and negotiation. He frequently represents developers, landlords, tenants, buyers, sellers, and condominium associations in real estate transactions and litigation. He is also retained to provide advice and advocacy on employment matters for employers and management.
Ken was an adjunct professor at New England School of Law from 1987 to 2013.
Committed to the community in which he works and lives, Ken has served on the Board of Directors of South Boston Neighborhood House and as general counsel and member of the advisory board for the South Boston Arts Association. He currently sits on the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Technology and Public Policy Committees. He is the past chairperson of the St. Brigid School Board in South Boston and also coached in the South Boston Youth Soccer League and Little League.
