My wife and I were referred to Tom Marks by a respected financial advisor. From the first contact, I was impressed by his organized way of dealing with us about our wills and other estate-associated documents. He was always helpful, educational, thoughtful, patient, friendly, and responsive. And, ...I am very happy to say, he has an excellent sense of humor. It's hard to say that any legal process is fun, but we enjoyed each of our sessions because he did the tedious parts, and we got a focused, understandable education on how the proper documents could make make life easier for our descendants. The most painful (and necessary) work we had to do was collect our financial account numbers and passwords. As he recommended, we made several beneficiary changes to our financial accounts that will make their transition much easier. (Having been an executor for my parents estate, which had been done without as much planning, I knew how lengthy and difficult the end-of-life account transfer process could be.) My wife and I hired Atty. Marks after a reference from an associate of ours. We wanted Wills, Healthcare proxies, Power of Atty., trust for each of us, and an irrevocable trust for our home. We met with Tom for an hour to explain what we want to accomplish. We had laid out how trust payments would be... handled and by whom. It was very simple ( I thought). He took all the time we needed to explain the laws and why we could not do what we wanted, but showed us how to accomplish our goals with the best financial results possible. We will pass wealth to our families with the bare minimum of taxes. Attorney Marks made our four meetings very pleasant. Although he knew more about this than we did he made us fell very knowledgeable about the process. Our trust , the way we wanted it, was more involved than what I've heard about beforehand. This was not a problem for Atty. Marks. He explains, he answers phone calls, he responds to e-mail, and he answers every question. The entire process of planning after my passing was comfortable. Our estate planning has been complete for 4 months now and Tom is still available to answer any questions we come up with. The cost of his service was low compared to the effort and service we received. I would hire him again.

Tom was recommended to us by another lawyer who could not take our case. He said he had seen Tom in court and was very impressed, eventhough he had never met him. We met with Tom and liked him instantly. He discussed our case and options and kept the dates he gave us as far as letters he wrote and... email updates.
