Tom has been extremely responsive and helpful to us through the estate planning process. He spelled things out clearly in our initial meeting and has communicated very effectively all the way through. I want to start by saying I do not often submit reviews, but I thought in this case my review of Attorney Marks might help somebody looking for an attorney to begin the estate planning process. I first met Attorney Marks when he consulted with my elderly parents a few years ago. Attorney Marks ...was also referred to me by my financial planner and a sibling who retained him for her estate planning needs. When my wife and I were ready, we retained Attorney Marks for our estate planning. Our first meeting included a discussion of our needs - wills, powers of attorney, health care proxy and an explanation of each document. Attorney Marks also provided “headache avoidance” advice. That included confirming and updating beneficiaries and ownership of financial and retirement accounts, safekeeping of passwords and steps to avoid probate. Attorney Marks also extended his services to our young adult children to draft incapacity documents. As for process, start to finish consisted of three meetings, with Attorney Marks available by phone and email to answer questions. Our retainer included one fee for all services, including the documents for our adult children. Estate Planning is a necessary, if not welcome, exercise. Attorney Marks made this easier for us through his knowledge of the law, advice, patience and professionalism. For these reasons, I wholeheartedly refer him to others for estate planning services.

My financial planner when asked, recommended Tom Marks to me for setting up my revocable trust, will, health proxy, power of attorney, etc. He said, "I know you will like him." On the first visit, I knew my financial planner was correct. I instantly like working with Tom. He has a warm and inviti...ng personality. Better still, he demonstrate a complete understanding of estate planning law to me immediately making me certain I was in good hands. This proved true over the course of our meetings, phone calls and document reviews. I feared at the outset this would be a "boiler plate exercise" since i considered his fixed quote for the services less than I expected.
