I often was left asking questions that received Zero answers. I paid $2000 flat for a uncontested divorce, and our introduction seemed great.but it took a couple months to get the ball rolling and I had to be persistent on asking for my ex spouses signature. Noone cares more about your situation than... you, so Im glad I was persistent. Otherwide it was going to continue moving at a snail pace. Almost every single email that I sent with a question , was completely unanswered or given random information that was not related to said question(s). Eventually I called and after talking for 7 minutes the call dropped mid sentence, I called back 4 times and followed up with emails and had ZERO response, acknowledgement or apology for them ending the call while they were in the middle of their sentence. Ironically it was in the middle of them answers the SAME QUESTIONS that were ignored via email. I happen to video record the whole call (i had it on speaker phone with a in person witness as well) and showed to another lawyer and asked for legal advice and if they could take over for me and they offered to do so. The only hold back was by this point I had a court date already set and didnt want to start the process over let alone pay for a whole new lawyer. By the end of it I was not provided a divorce decree and was told to get it myself from the court house even though it was agreed upon to be apart of what I hired a DIVORCE lawyer for. What divorce lawyer doesn’t have their client leave with a divorce decree? How hard is it to obtain the document and mail it to the client? Not to mention the incompetence to send email without typos…he even spell his own name wrong… how frustrating. My now husband and I had to wait so long to have my divorce officially happen from my abusive ex husband and half the time waited felt like it was due to these slow responses and lack of persistence. If i could go back I would spend the extra couple thousand to get a lawyer that listens to my concerns and answers questions rather than ghosting me at times. Good riddance to the ex husband and the ridiculous process it took to get through it.
