I used Barry in the dot.com era and he was awesome

The person I married was not the girl I dated. I asked around to those fancy Ivy league lawyers and most said things like "You never know how a judge, jury... is going to..." Not Barry right off the bat he knew what to do and how to win the case, and he did. I walked out of Cambridge court with he...r paying me... yes you just read that. Barry is very honest affordable and most of effective. The Best.

The worst lawyer i have ever dealt with !!!!!Avoid!!!!

I dealt with Atty. Lewis for almost 2 years. During that course of time my ex wife got everything she wanted every single time we went to court. He advised me not to pay a bill at on point and it caused me to be arrested!!!!! He came to court both disheveled and unkempt. At one point I was awarded a ...sizeable amount from a escrow account the exs attorney wrote the check to myself and lewis. Additionally the judgment did not mention my ex getting a nickel however he said nothing when her attorney gave her a check for the same amount and also refused to endorse my check until he got a nice chunk of it. He threatened on multiple occasions to withdraw from my case and finally did approximately 3 weeks before the trial. As a result of that I was forced to concede to all my ex wife's lawyers demands and basically lost everything I worked my entire life for. I felt at points during this two years of hell that Lewis was actually on my wifes lawyers payroll it was so bad. This was not my only experience with Atty Lewis, he also represented a close female friend of mine who under his representation lost everything as well. In a settlement she was awarded the house but due to Lewis's ineptness he never negotiated anything with the mortgage that was in her uncooperative ex husbands name so the mortgage company would not even talk to her or send her the bills, the house ended up going into foreclosure then her ex husband went into court and had her and her 2 kids kicked out of it. Also in that case her ex husband cashed in a retirement pension of over 120,000 forging her name to a document and by the time his office subpoenaed the records the money was gone the ex husband ended up with the house and all the retirement money he stole. Lewis never even asked for alimony for her in a 10 year plus marriage!!! In my case Lewis claimed that that's how the courts system treats men in divorce court and that by the luck of the draw I got a pro woman judge. Lewis represented both of us a man and a woman in two different courts before two different judges and we both lost everything. Atty. Barry Lewis does not care one iota about his clients, he has no sympathy for what they are going through his only concern is his fees and settling cases quickly and moving on to the next payday. Bottom Line..... "when the going gets tough Lewis bails"!!!!!!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
