    On Point

I met with Mr. Holden Green and briefed him on my concern with supporting information. Mr. Green was informative, direct, and on point. I highly recommend him for his knowledge, being assertive, and his genuine tenacity. These elements were instrumental to me of his confidence in the matter allowing me a sense of comfort for all actions taken and resolved.

    Couldn't ask for better

He made the entire process easy for me. I had no sweat, no stress, and no loss of sleep. I also received all my items ($3000 worth) returned in a timely manner. 10/10 recommend.

    His help was greatly appreciated

Holden has gone out of his way to help me when I was in a time of need. When I needed help he told me up front how he was going to help and did just so. Holden is very knowledgeable and sincere. He tells you like it is good or possibly not so good. He will do all within his power to get you proper justice. He sticks up for the little guy who without representation would get stepped on by the judicial system. Holden comes from humble background giving him much more creditability than some rich kid who went to law school on daddy's money. You want a good lawyer, you found him.

Stop, Relax, and Call Mr. Green

I had appeal a small claims case. When I was searching for a knowledgeable attorney that had experience in appealing small claims case, I found Mr. Green. After a brief in person meeting with Mr. Green on a Saturday, my gut tells me to hire Mr. Green. Remember, attorneys don't work on Saturday. Courts don't open on Saturday. Mr. Green is knowledgeable, professional, punctual, aggressive, and has time of day, on a Saturday, on a Saturday, to meet with a potential client. He took time out from his own personal time on a Saturday to meet with me and I didn't even hire him yet. I'm sure glad I did. This is where you have to listen to your gut. After our brief meeting, I've hired Mr. Green. Mr. Green gave me advice on what to do and how to do it. If you can follow simple instructions, you can win with Mr. Green. At the end of the day, Mr. Green produced a favorable result in my case. Thank you Mr. Green!!!

    Red Light - Stop
    Yellow Light - Relax
Green Light - Go and hire Mr. Green

    You'll be glad you did.
"It is a privilege to be born with common sense." Mr. Green has that privilege.

    GREAT ATTORNEY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Mr. Green was very professional and knowledge lawyer. He would always return my call promptly. My son was facing 2 felony charges and some jail time. Mr. Green was able to give us the results that we hoped for. Mr. Green used his high expertise and was able to drop 1 of my sons felony charges. Also Mr. Green and with the help of Manley's court my son did not have to do any more jail time. I will not hesitate to call him again, especially in 2 years when my son is able to have his felony expunged off his record. Thank you Mr.Holden Green.

    Very Appreciated for the help

I encountered a big legal issue and it almost took everything I have. it took several months and drove me almost crazy. It was Mr. Green who helped me out and gave me a optimal result which I early hoped for, a lot thanks for Mr. Green for the help. He always replied email and phone call quickly, and also saved a lot of court time for me. He kept fighting for the best result could be, even sometimes I was about to chicken out. Thanks lot for the help, Mr. Green.

bottom line: call for a consultation first

I called Mr. Holden's office for a free consultation, and was transferred to him within minutes. He allowed me to explain my situation over the buzz of his electric razor. I got about 8 minutes to talk to him instead of 35 minutes advertised because he was "about to go into court." The last two minutes of his call seemed like his standard spiel to sell himself about how he "knows the court officials" and ambiguously explain his loose pricing policy.. apparently oblivious to how poorly he was representing himself. I certainly wouldn't want to be the person he was about to represent in court!

His pricing policy also isn't clear.. when he gives you a range due to his hourly rate, I would personally expect the higher end. Many lawyers have a flat fee for standard DUI services that covers most standard services from the DMV hearing through pre-trial, and will specify what will be "extra" if needed. I like the flat fee because an hourly rate incentivizes lawyers to drag out a case as long as possible, while a flat fee does the opposite.

At first, when I was interviewing lawyers for my DUI case, I kept Mr. Green on my list because he does have very good reviews, but after I realized that he may or may not respond to e-mails (I got a response to one, no response to the other), I dumped him from my list and found a much better lawyer to represent me. Since internet reviews led me to him, I decided it might help to share my experience with people.

It's clear that I'm reviewing from only preliminary interactions with Mr. Green, and thus my only conclusion is that you should interview around before choosing him; but personally I dropped Mr. Green because I couldn't imagine him representing me well if he couldn't even show the most basic professional behavior even in the courting stages: Disheveled demeanor during the consultation, charging by the hour yet giving me 8 minutes for a "35 minute consultation," and seeming to not remember anything about me over e-mail exchanges or forgetting to respond to my e-mail.

I'm not saying that Mr. Green is necessarily a bad lawyer, but I know that you can find plenty of lawyers that don't have all these red flags.

Holden W Green’s response: “This person has not appeared in a face to face consultation at either of the law offices. The fact that he mentions "razor" proves this person never met me face to face. This person wrote the review and added in this lie to get the review posted on Avvo as the site requests that the person leaving the review is a client and phone consultations do not qualify and will not be posted. Knowing that and knowing Avvo has no way of verifying anything it allows the post to go through. This is the biggest problem in the legal community and why most lawyers refuse to talk to any clients without an in person appointment . The frustrating problem is that some attorney's take the time on the phone to see if there is even a case and whether it would be worth setting up an in person meeting. Some times efficiency and good faith effort to help as many people as possible allows for abuse. This is one of those times. The office logs in every call connected to (408)451-8449. I personally have not had an in person DUI matter this year. In addressing this review several things are missing. For example a name. Without a name then you have an "anonymous" reviewer which is a red flag. There is no way a caller can make comments on a person's appearance without seeing them in person. The review also does not mention dates or city. Even with Yelp the site makes the person leave a made up name or "tag name" but not here. Here is the other problem. People like this reviewer have called many attorney's (as this one admits) and gets frustrated when either the price is higher than they want or the attorney refuses to talk without an appointment. In this case he happened to get me on the phone arguably in the middle of preparing for court, faxing documents, or other multi-tasking duties. All of us in the legal community know our days just fly by. But in the climate of trying to help the public we cannot screen the caller for truth or veracity. We can only take them at their word and now here I am getting ready for trial and I have to stop and answer this false and defamatory "un authored" review . Often times people like this called get mad and vindictive when the lawyer ie "myself" declines to take the case for a number of reasons. Price and the most important reason: lack of a defense. Often times I say for the client to save their money and not hire a lawyer and simply if it is a first time offense pay the fine do the seven days and not drink and drive in the future. In this review the person does not say that they were pulled over for under the influence of drugs which if properly described is a defense. It is irresponsible to accept a case and collect a fee when the case is not right for the lawyer or is simply not a good fit. CA RULES OF PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILTY RULE-1-100 or RULE 3-110 or RULE 3-310 and finally RULE 3-400 , Baron v. City of Los Angeles (1970) 2 Cal 3d 535 , 86 Cal Rptr. 673, People vs. Landlords Professional Services (1989) 215 Cal. App 3d 1599, [264 Cal. Rptr 673 ). In the last few years hard working lawyers who do their best to help the community with quality and empathetic legal care should not have to shadow box the "invisible public" on a review site just because they do not like or understand they are hearing whether it be by phone or in the office. In closing the First Amendment will always have a forum for this kind of rhetoric but it is not right and I and I hear this all day long get drawn into a review battle with persons and in this case is it a man or a women?, as part of maintaining a legal practice. My ratings are above reproach. This 9.6 rating and over 22 reviews are by actually "retained clients" who have signed fee agreements and have commented on their experiences after court is finished. I never ask a client to leave a review that is their choice. If you want to know how I can help answer questions call me." Thank-you" for this time. Sincerely Holden Green Esq”

Excellent value. Pushes for best resolution

Holden helped me with a legal matter. He was always extremely responsive and pushing for a better resolution. He got my charges reduced to a more reasonable level, and further reduced to an infraction upon record clearance. Very happy with the outcome.

Holden W. Green got my public indecent exposure charge dismissed!

I was wrongly charged with public indecent exposure at a college campus. Being a young male with future job prospects, I could not afford a plea bargain or risk going to trial and losing at trial. Holden Green got my public indecent exposure case dismissed due to lack of evidence using 2 key witnesses in the classroom at that time. This was a serious charge because it will get me on the sex offender's list for life. He responds fast to emails. I recommend him for any criminal defense case. He worked out a deal with me for $2050. I was low income, so I was eligible to receive a free public defender, but public defenders are overworked and do not pay close attention to detail for each client's case. I could not risk a public defender. The money my parents used to hire Holden W. Green was well worth it. After the court case, Holden offered me to have my record cleared so my job prospects would not be affected.
