About Me

I am a partner at the Irvine-based law firm of McKasson & Klein LLP. I act as outside general counsel to companies conducting business domestically or globally with employees numbering between 5 and 1500. As such, I manage clients’ day-to-day legal affairs including those related to contract negotiation and formation, corporate structure, stock/asset purchases and acquisitions, employment, liability prevention, insurance, regulatory compliance, and real estate. Also, I aid as required in policy-setting, future growth-planning, and risk minimization.

My practice focuses on quickly and efficiently solving legal problems as they arise and implementing proactive policies and contractual measures to reduce their occurrence. When litigation arises, I handle every step from pleadings and discovery through to resolution through settlement, arbitration, or trial.

Sample industries I represent include manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail, shipping, freight-forwarding, education, maritime, restaurants, automotive, medical billing, software design/development, machining, textile, irrigation, recycling, and staffing.

I have been admitted to practice before the California State Bar as well as the Federal Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Districts of California, and also before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Finally, on a more personal level, I am a devoted husband and father of two very active boys. The spare time I have is spent teaching at the University of California, Irvine's paralegal program, volunteering as a high school mock trial coach, and leading a Boy Scout den.

I endorse this lawyer's work. Michael was counsel for a co-party in an international trade secret dispute in federal district court. Michael was outstanding in representing his client. That was evident in his court filings and when he argued in court. He achieve a fabulous result, disposing of the case for his client.
