About Aaron

Learn Aaron’s areas of practice.

I attended Southwestern University School of Law, where I was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and graduated cum laude in 1987.  My primary practice areas include appeals, and litigation arising from free speech issues (anti-SLAPP, defamation, first amendment), business litigation (breach of contract, trade secret, partnership dissolution, etc.), and employment law (wrongful termination defense and prosecution). I am the founder and current President of the California Defamation Lawyers Association.  I've worked as an Adjunct Professor at Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, California, teaching "Litigation Skills & Strategies" and at National University in Irvine, California, teaching litigation techniques.  I am a writer and lecturer on the subjects of free speech, defamation and anti-SLAPP, and I am the author of the California SLAPP Law and Internet Defamation blogs, and host of the California SLAPP Law Podcast. I have published numerous articles on law office efficiency, and I was Editor in Chief of Law Office Technology Solutions and Contributing Editor of Law Office Computing.  I have been a featured speaker at such functions as the American Bar Association TechShow. I am frequently asked to consult other law firms on anti-SLAPP motions and I am often retained as an expert to opine on fee applications following anti-SLAPP motions.

I'm very happy!
We were lucky to find Aaron Morris and Deanna Stone of Morris and Stone Law Firm! I was being named in an Anti-Slapp case by Senator Catherine Blakespear. Morris and Stone jumped in, wrote the Judge a very well thought out and detailed statement with supporting evidence from previous Supreme Court cases proving that I should not be named in the Anti-SLAPP. In the end the judge agreed with Morris & Stone's statements in its "Entirety". It was obvious the judge was impressed with with Morris and Stone. If I ever have any legal issues in the future I will certainly contact Aaron Morris and Deanna Stone. If you're reading this review I recommend you call them as well, they give a great consultation are extremely knowledgeable and fair. I'm very thankful that I found Morris & Stone!

Excellent, professional, honest and very knowledgable attorney
Update, two years after, I hired this attorney and can't be any happier with my decision ...... Attorney Aaron Morris is simply awesome. Not only is he smart, but he is honest, dedicated and the best Anti-Slapp attorney one can find. Aaron doesn’t sleep until wins the case and that’s what he did for me …. So grateful to him. I’m very grateful that I found Aaron. Highly highly highly recommend him.I had the privilege to speak/consult with Mr. Morris and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He took the time to listen and answered all my questions and concerns while he didn't charge me for his time. The most knowledgeable attorney in defamation cases and I highly recommend him.

Professional, polite and great character.
I consulted with Aaron and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. He did not charge me for the consultation and I didn’t feel pressured by him to make any decisions. Other attorneys wanted to $250 before even listening to the issue. Highly recommend Aaron.

Highly Recommend
After talking with several attorneys, I chose to retain Aaron Morris. He gave me realistic expectations and gently guided me through the process. Should I need the services of an attorney again in the future, I will immediately call Aaron Morris. I highly recommend him.

Excellent Attorney
I had the privilege today of talking to Aaron by phone. I called Aaron in regards to his article on businesses and false Yelp reviews. Aaron spoke to me for at least 30 minutes, answered ALL my questions and concerns as I have recently received a very negative Yelp review and wanted info on what steps I could take in regards to the Yelp review. Aaron is insightful, articulate and has a great sense of humor. I would recommend Aaron to anyone needing help with legal issues concerning defamation, and restoring one’s reputation. I am also grateful for his internet article ‘What to do when someone has posted a false review about your business”. The article is extremely thorough, and highly relevant in today’s social media world. In particular, I want to add that Aaron gave freely of his time with me today as there was no charge for the call. Thank You!

Great lawyer
I hired Aaron Morris to represent me on a breach of contract case. He and his firm were great to work with, always kept me in the loop, and got me a great result.

Libel and slander Attorney | Nov 08
Relationship: Co-worker
"I have worked with Aaron Morris since 1998, first as his paralegal, and later as an attorney and his law partner since December 2007. Aaron Morris is extremely competent in every area in which he practices but, in particular, in the areas of libel, slander, internet defamation, and anti-SLAPP litigation. He is knowledgeable, efficient, bottom-line oriented, and genuinely cares about his clients and getting them the best possible outcome or resolution. I give him my highest endorsement."
General practice Attorney | Mar 15
Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
"Although I am confident he has many attorney skills worthy of endorsement, I am specifically endorsing him for his knowledge and experience with anti-SLAPP motions. It's an under-practiced area and requires very specialized knowledge. Mr. Morris is among the most fluent attorneys I have met in this area in 23 years of practice. Mr. Morris comes with my high endorsement."
Libel and slander Attorney | Aug 28

"I endorse this lawyer. Aaron is a terrific lawyer, with special expertise in the anti-SLAPP arena. If you have a complaint which might be subject to such a motion, talk with him first, or engage him if the motion has been filed!"
