I almost never write reviews even if a product or service is bad. However, because my experience with this attorney was so terribly bad I felt it necessary to warn anyone thinking about hiring this man for legal representation. First, Mr. Kaloyanides incorrectly analyzed the evidence in my case and suggested I accept a very bad plea deal offered by the DA (which I did not). Secondly, this attorney was impossible to get in touch with by phone from jail and whomever answered the phones at his office refused to accept my collect calls at least 7 different times. My family members sent him many emails for me but he ignored them all. As a result I was never aware of what was going on with my own case, how bad is that. Third, when I did actually see him in court he spent more time laughing and joking with the DA than telling me what was happening with my case. Finally, when I did actually receive copies of the legal paperwork Mr. Kaloyanides submitted to the court on my behalf, I found them full of typos, misused words, and other grammatical errors which obviously reflected very poorly on me. I finally had no choice but to fire this lawyer and bring in another attorney who had to clean up the big mess left by Mr. Kaloyanides. This cost my family a lot of extra money which we didn't have and shouldn't had to pay if it were not for the very bad legal representation of this attorney. If I had the money I would take legal action against this man for malpractice.
Mr. Kaloyanides was my attorney for a fraud case and it was all bad. He misled me a number of times and was not forthright about important issues of my case. I quickly learned he was not the lawyer who was going to fight for me in or out of court. I found this attorney to be a yes man more worried about how he looked in the eyes of the judge than anything else. This attorney turned out to be all show and no substance and just a pawn of the judicial system more than anything else. Do not hire this attorney if you are serious about winning your criminal case because I can assure you it won't happen with this man as your counsel.
I was appointed this attorney by the federal government for fraud charges and was very surprised at how little this guy did for me. I found this attorney to be sloppy and careless in his work and I'm talking about the motions he filed in my case as they contained numerous typos and misplaced words making us both look bad. Similar to what was mentioned in other client reviews about this guy this attorney failed to properly communicate to me what was going on with my case and the important issues I should have known. I found his behavior as my lawyer completely unacceptable and unprofessional as well. In addition to his poor communication he was also forgetful about important facts of my case. I don't know how many times I had to remind him of specific facts pertaining to my defense but it was way too many. I was truly amazed at the low quality legal representation I received from this attorney throughout my entire case and certainly did not feel that I was afforded competent legal counsel as I am entitled to by law. This attorney turned out to be more of a problem for me than I could have ever imagined and I honestly wondered if he was working with the prosecution because that is exactly how it appeared much of the time. I felt this lawyer pressured me to take a deal because he did not want to do the work necessary to prepare for a tough trial and this was probably because he wasn't getting paid his normal hourly fee whatever that was. After all was said and done I ended up taking a plea against my better judgment but because I felt with guy as my counsel left me with no other options. With or without this attorney I was doomed. I've worked with a number of lawyers over the last 20 years and this guy is for sure the very worst.
Because I had very little money this attorney was appointed to me by the Federal government for numerous narcotics distribution charges brought against me. What I found very upsetting about this guy was that he failed to communicate with me through the entire case. I knew almost nothing about my case other than what I heard while I was in court and this was a problem for me. This attorney provided me the absolute bare bones minimum defense allowed by law and showed very little concern about my case and its outcome. Although I first rejected the prosecutor's plea offer I felt I had to reconsider because this attorney did not possess the skills necessary to properly defend me in a jury trial. He lacked the experience and the resources to prepare me for and win a trial. I felt this guy spent more time trying to impress the judge and prosecutor rather than get results for me his client. He never attempted to get a bail for me the entire time I was locked up and was sloppy with his presentations in court. I just couldn't trust this attorney from the very beginning and had no choice but to take a plea deal for prison time. The bottom line is this guy is not a very good lawyer in my opinion.
2010 I was charged with numerous counts of bank fraud by the govt and was assigned this attorney. In a nut shell this guy went through the motions and nothing more. He provided a bare bones defense and in the end I felt I had no choice but to take a deal for 33 months and a big fine for restitution ($200K +). Felt I could have done a lot better with a different attorney.
This guy was assigned to be my attorney by the feds for a drug trafficking case. I really did not like that this attorney tried to get me to take a deal early on without taking a good look at the case. I also did not like that this guy always kept me out of the loop with what was going on with my own case. This attorney said he would do a number a things for me but never did a thing that I asked of him so I never trusted the guy after that and considered him to be part of the problem more than anything. Forget what I wanted this guy did what the heck he wanted when he wanted. DON'T MAKE A BAD SITUATION WORSE, FIND ANOTHER ATTORNEY TO REPRESENT YOU IN A CRIMINAL CASE BECAUSE THIS GUY DOES NOT GIVE A HOOT.
As I read the previous client reviews about this attorney I see that other clients who this guy represented experienced the same issues that I did. This attorney was assigned to me by the govt for drug charges because I don't have money to hire one myself. Before this guy even looked at the evidence the prosecutor had against me he came to me with a offer and said I should consider it. Yes, before he even saw the evidence against me! What the heck? And like the other clients said this attorney was impossible to get in touch with and came to see me when he darn well felt like it not when I wanted to see him. Everything was on his time line and a lot of the time I only got to talk to him in court. He would never directly answer my questions always saying he would get back to me about one thing or another and he never did. He treated me like I was a problem for him and rarely listened to what I had to say. At first my family was really happy I been given such a good attorney but it wasn't long before my family and me realized this attorney was not what he claimed to be. I didn't know I could ask for another federal public defender or else I would have for sure. This guy made me angry with the very little he did for me in court. He gets an F for his efforts because that is what he earned and that is what deserved. Read the other client reviews about how this attorney really is and trust me when I say they are all true.
2008 this attorney represented me in a federal drug case where I was charged with 2 counts of making hand to hand drug deals of powder cocaine. I had the bad luck of being assigned this attorney because I couldn't afford one myself, and he did NOTHING for me during the trial. And I do mean NOTHING!. Even though the main witness for the government was a lying informant who was paid by the feds, this attorney was still unable to beat both charges and because of this I received prison time for the one charge which I was convicted. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ATTORNEY TO ANYONE FOR ANY REASON! Two different attorneys reviewed my case after I was convicted and both said it was a case I should have beaten and I agree with them no doubt. For something as important as a criminal case and trial I suggest not putting your trust in this attorney like I did because it was a BIG mistake.
Mr. K represented me in a trial. I was in jail because I couldn't make bail. He came to see me to discuss my case. He explained all the evidence to me and helped me understand the good and bad parts of my case. He gave me all the information I needed to decide how I wanted to proceed in my case. He came to visit me in jail frequently to help prepare me for trial. At trial, he was great and was able to get the case dismissed.
I hired Mr. Kaloyanides to represent me in a tax case. He met with me right away, evaluated my case, and helped me understand my options. He reviewed the documents and evidence with me and helped explain the strategy in the case. He met with me regularly and kept me informed. I appreciated that he always made sure I was part of the decision process. In the end, he got the case against me dropped. I highly recommend Mr. Kaloyanides.
