Susan is the most competent lawyer I have dealt with in regards to DUI' or any other matter. Believe me I have worked with lots of attorney's in my 40 years, and I must say my experience with Susan Haber is by far the best experience I have had, ever.
Ms. Haber zealously represented me in a particularly tricky court case. She had the total respect of the Judge and the Prosecutor. I couldn't have been happier and feel very fortunate to have had her representing me.
Ms. Haber was OUTSTANDING! We hired her just a few days before a hearing. She spent time with us, learned all the details of the case, and represented us beautifully. We had the best possible outcome from her representation of us. I would hire her again in a heartbeat should the need arise.
Simply put, keeping a Class A license for the charges brought on me are nearly impossible to overcome, but Susan pulled a rabid out of a hat and saved my career, I owe her everything.
Had an incredible experience with Ms. Haber. A very knowledgeable criminal defense lawyer who knows exactly what she's doing. Couldn't thank her enough for what she did for me!

Bad things do happen to good people. And good people do happen to make mistakes. And if you happen to have made that mistake in the City of Los Angeles, the LA City Attorney's Office will be happily waiting to criminally charge you. They'll even tack on a few extra charges for good measure, just to ensure you get the full experience of the Los Angeles criminal justice system. Because it's all about servicing justice--as long as "justice" means convicting you of something.
If you happen to maintain the idealistic belief that truth will prevail, and that the City Attorney's Office will come around to seeing your side of things once all the full facts are presented, you're in for quite a rude awakening.
You see, the modern day criminal justice system--at least here in Los Angeles--is not built on fairly meting out justice for all. Not even close. The LA judicial system is ruled by Assistant City Attorneys who are rewarded for getting convictions, not for serving justice. They will over-charge for offenses, disregard potentially exculpatory evidence, and stack the deck against defendants to the point of borderline unethicality. In my case, they tenaciously attempted to get evidence admitted which was blatantly unverifiable with unreliable chain of custody, and--left unchecked--potentially severely damaging to me. And without my attorney, nothing would have stopped them from using it against me. Do you think the City Attorney's Office gave a second thought to attempting to trample my constitutional rights? No. Do you think they'll hesitate to trample yours? Not likely.
In a criminal justice system like the one in Los Angeles, where overzealous Assistant City Attorneys focus with tunnel vision-like precision on crushing you with a conviction, where serving justice is secondary to earning cash bonuses for high conviction rates, the average person is doomed to wage an un-winnable battle in an arena where the scales of justice are tipped heavily against them.
In this kind of skewed environment, it is imperative that you have a strong attorney in your corner to ensure your constitutional rights are protected. The City Attorney's Office isn't going to be looking out for you. Wrongfully charged? They don't care. Your life and livelihood at stake? They don't care. At all. It's not about justice, it's about statistics, and now you're one of them. A pawn in their chess game.
I hired Susan Haber because I had retained her before, for practically the same matter. Susan recognized immediately that my case was one which should never have been charged. I cannot speak highly enough about Susan and her team. She worked diligently and tirelessly on a case that required much more time and resources than either of us had originally expected. A Serna motion, trial motions, extensive research, and trial preparation--a vigorous fight waged to get a piece of evidence excluded--something that should never have been brought in in the first place.
Ultimately, it was a victory. The judge ruled that the evidence would not be allowed, and the City Attorney's Office finally backed down. A disposition favorable to me was reached, and the matter was finally able to be put behind me.
If you've found yourself in the unfortunate position of being a defendant in Los Angeles, you will absolutely require exceptional legal representation to preserve your rights and protect your freedom. Susan Haber is that attorney. She makes strong, effective arguments backed by solid research. Her courtroom performance is second to none and she will work hard to protect you.
Susan is not only a strong attorney, she's also compassionate. Being a defendant is incredibly stressful. Susan recognizes this and helped reassure me that, ultimately, I'd make it through everything okay. And, you know what? She was right.
If you need a great defense attorney, I highly recommend Susan Morris Haber.

Admittedly from the inception of my case, I was riddled with nervousness and in full disbelief that justice would prevail. Unfortunately at the time of my arrest I was already on probation from two prior misdemeanor felonies and a DUI that was still only five months away from reaching its 10 year maturation period. Suffice to say, I did not feel very confident about the pending outcome. Susan Haber and the the whole team at the Kavinoky Law Firm navigated this case through troubling waters and on to a successful dismissal. They were empathetic to my family's situation and kept us intelligently informed throughout the entire process which helped me to separate my personal attachment to the memories of what caused my arrest, from the facts regarding my case that would lead us to a successful defeat. Susan Haber not only has my respect and trust, but my recommendation as well. She never promised me a win, but through knowledge of law, strong consistent business practice, relentless research, thorough communication and case familiarity, Susan was able to deliver a victorious outcome all with respect to and with minimal interruption to my families already tumultuous schedule. The embrace Susan gave me at the conclusion of my case more than confirmed that I wasn't just a bottom line dollar to their company, but a client in need of their help & support......, and in my opinion, in today's already highly profiled and competive legal market, that's what separates the stellar few from the mundane majority. Kudos to you Mrs. Haber, Keith Pressman, Damaris Gonzalez and the entire team at The Kavinoky Law Firm.

Susan did an amazing job putting together my case for a certificate of rehabilitation, kept me informed and explained what to expect or not expect as the case progressed. I would recommend her and the offices of the Kavinoky law firm to anyone who needs competent legal advice.

Susan helped me through a very difficult time in dealing with an unbelievable Property Destruction charge in Venice Beach after being roofied in a bar and extorted by a cab company who accused me of "ripping the radio out of his dashboard." I was terrified and overwhelmed by what was happening and Susan was a wonderful rep and partner in not only getting the charges reduced to a Misdemeanor but also negotiating therapy instead of AA and then getting all charges expunged from my record as soon as it was legally possible. Susan and her team kept me informed, gave me support and educated me so that my fears where replaced by knowledge and hope. Thank you, Susan!!

I have never had an experience like this. Very difficult time for me, stressed physically and emotionally!
However, I can't thank Susan Haber enough for her knowledgeable guidance. I was informed of every detail and was contacted with any new results immediately. She was always uplifting and available! Aside of appearance in court she represented me in my DMV hearing. I listened in on my DMV hearing. I was amazed at her defense in my behalf. Susan Haber was on top of every detail. As a result we won the case and I was reissued my drivers license! I refer to her as my "Super Woman!" Not only did she win my DMV case, she gave me piece of mind and emotional support! I would absolutely recommend "The Kavinoky Law Firm" and highly recommend Susan Haber!
