About Me

I am an attorney and "Of Counsel" to the Denver based law firm of Pendleton, Wilson, Hennessey & Crow. I am a graduate of Columbia (B.A., 1966) and the University of Colorado School of Law (J.D., 1969). I have been licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado and the U.S. District Court of the District of Colorado since 1969. I am also admitted to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. I have practiced in Colorado since completing a clerkship with Justice Robert B. Lee of the Colorado Supreme Court. I have also served as a municipal court judge.

I have been practicing law for more than 40 years and for the last 30 of those years, have specialized in employment law. I devote approximately 80% of my practice to the representation of employees in labor and employment law disputes in the private sector.

I have represented numerous private and public employees before the EEOC, CCRD, OFO, the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board and various agencies and governmental entities. I have also represented employees in state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

I am a long-time member of both NELA (National Employment Lawyers Association) and a member of the Board of Directors of PELA (Plaintiff Employment Lawyers Association). I often advise colleagues with regard to legal issues that they may encounter from time to time.

Bachus & Schanker's practice encompasses workers' compensation, Social Security disability, product liability and all other injuries, including those sustained in automobile collisions. I merged my law firm w/ Bachus & Schanker on December 1, 2013 in order to augment its employment law practice.

  • Wes P Wollenweber

I most definitely endorse Elwyn. We have co-counseled difficult cases over the years and I have learned a tremendous amount from Elwyn. He is very talented and skilled at determining the best course of action for his clients when it comes to a settlement that helps them move on with their lives, but never shies away from taking cases to trial when that is the best or only option for his clients. Elwyn is someone I have tried to emulate in a variety of ways.
