About me

David G. Sigale has counseled and represented corporate and individual clients in Chicagoland and the United States. He practices general and appellate litigation with a focus in business disputes, personal injury and tort law, and civil rights.

David G. Sigale made history as co-counsel in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case McDonald v. City of Chicago in June, 2010, for which he was featured in much print and electronic media.  He is also co-counsel in the current cases of Ezell v. Chicago (striking down Chicago’s range ban) and the recent case of Moore v. Madigan (striking down Illinois’ ban on carrying firearms). Currently in Culp v. Madigan, he is challenging the Illinois non-resident CCL ban. He has also fought for Second Amendment rights for lawful resident aliens, those in public housing, and those in U.S. Territories.  He regularly assists with FOID and CCL issues.

Mr. Sigale has been selected to the Illinois Super Lawyer list since 2012, for which only 5% of Illinois attorneys are chosen annually. He was given the Second Amendment Foundation’s Bill of Rights award in 2011, and the CCRKBA’s Gun Rights Defender of the Year award in 2014. He is a member of the National Trial Lawyers: Top 100, and the National Association of Distinguished Counsel . He is also the Vice-Chair of Programming for the DuPage American Inns of Court.
