I was charged with driving on a suspended license in North Dakota District Court. Mr. Thornton explained to me exactly what my options were and how he could successfully obtain an agreement with the State's Attorney for a reduced charge carrying a far lighter sentence, and what I would be required to do in order to facilitate this. I did exactly as instructed, and he achieved the outcome exactly as promised. He knows the law, has a good working relationship with the State's Attorney's Office, and is able to explain things in a very easy-to-understand manner. I would rely on him for any and all legal needs.

Although Nick has a lot of information and seems to know the law well, he is cocky and arrogant and acts like his crap don't stink. I prefer a lawyer who has some empathy for their clients, not treats them like the dirt on the bottom of their shoes. He is more interested in sticking it to the prosecutors than his clients interests.

I had multiple felony charges when I was to appear in court. I was extremely nervous and didnt know what to expect. All I knew is I wanted it to all go away and never commit another crime again.
When I met with Nick Thorton before court on the phone, he was very helpful with helping understand all the options we could take. I told him that I was sorry that he had to waste time on a guy like me, and he assured me that I was not a waste of effort, but that he would help me get the help i truly needed.
He made some arrangement with the court and got all but one felony dropped with no probation as long as I went to a treatment facility and stayed sober. This was two years ago, and I am happy to say that Nick's efforts on me and my case was not wasted. I am sober and now attending classes to become a pastor/teaching for the local church body. My family, children and I are all very happy today. Who knows what what would of happened if I would of went to prison. I'm glad Nick took an interest in me, and helped me get the help I needed.
