About me

I am a lifelong Michigan resident and am dedicated to serving the people of this great state.  I was born in Ann Arbor and lived in Riverview for several years until I moved to Canton.  Growing up I was involved in community sports activities such as swimming, soccer, and baseball.  I attended both Pioneer and Central Middle Schools in the Plymouth-Canton School District and am a graduate of Plymouth-Canton High School where I was a four year member of the varsity swimming and diving team.

I held various jobs throughout my youth.  Since I was 13 years old I have been a United States Soccer Federation Referee and I currently hold a State level license.  I also worked at places such as Benito's Pizza, Taco Bell, and Eddie Bauer.  As I grew up, I was fortunate to receive internships with various organizations.  I spent a summer living and working in Washington D.C. for United States Steel in their governmental affairs office.  I also interned for a local Congressman and for the Michigan Association of REALTORS.  Those jobs taught me hard work, dedication, discipline, punctuality, and, most importantly, how to work with others in difficult situations.

I remained in Michigan for college and attended Albion College where I double majored and completed two concentrations.  While at Albion I was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity as well as the Alpha Kappa Delta and Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Societies.  Immediately after college, I chose to attend the Michigan State University College of Law.  While there, I earned the Jurisprudence Award in both Michigan Civil Procedure and Basic Will Drafting.

Prior to founding  my own law firm, I clerked in the 42nd Circuit Court in Midland, Michigan under Chief Judge John Lauderbach. I also interned for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office Juvenile Division. These positions provided me with both a unique view of our legal system and excellent on the job experience.  My practice areas include: estate planning, family and juvenile law, criminal defense, landlord/tenant law, and automobile repossession
