Biography
An often used saying is that, “nothing is more expensive than a cheap lawyer.” In all reality the saying should be, “nothing is more expensive than an inexperienced lawyer.” Unfortunately, many people seeking representation in criminal matters hire attorneys who are either inexperienced or extremely expensive. My goal is to provide aggressive legal representation at a cost effective rate. As a former prosecutor I am familiar with the strategies and tactics used by law enforcement and prosecutors, and know all too well how these practices can steamroll those accused of crimes. As your attorney I will guide you through the often unfamiliar and intimidating criminal justice system and provide you with the information you need to make important decisions. Your case will be thoroughly prepared before we ever set foot in court and you will be kept informed as to everything that happens. I am a lifelong resident and native of the Grand Rapids area. After high school, I joined the United States Marine Corps where I served in the infantry and took part in several combat deployments. While serving in the Marines, I also attended Grand Valley State University. Following my graduation from MSU College of Law in 2012 I served as an assistant prosecutor in Kalkaska County where I gained experience in conducting trials and handling a variety of criminal matters. In 2015 I returned to Grand Rapids and now focus primarily on criminal defense and litigation defense

Rick was able to make accommodations with the court for my hearing and sentencing which was a major help given that I was not in the same state as the crime was committed, I was able to do it remotely. He was also able to get it reduced to the minimalist charge possible, strongly recommend.
