I consulted with Mr. Carter for the first time via phone after posting a question on AVVO and knew instantly he was the right attorney for my family law case with my narcissist ex. It was VERY important to me that whoever I hired was familiar with narcissism as narcissists are masters of manipulatio...n and can lie very convincingly. I retained him in October after an in person consultation in which it was almost like he knew my ex by his own description of what narcissists say and do. Not only was he was very knowledgeable, he was also very attentive and patient with my multiple phone calls and questions fueled by my anxiety over the case and protecting my child. I was going through a very long & bitter divorce. I had several attorneys before I found the right one! Mr. Carter understands family law & the legal system. He is well educated & worked with me as a "partner" rather than a 'client'! I felt I could contact him pretty much anytime. If it was after...-hours or if he was in court, I knew he'd call me back as soon as he was able. He answered my question(s) with sound advice & skill. It is only fair that I point out that my divorce lasted almost 3 years. I started with a large law firm in Indianapolis, there was a lot of turn around of lawyers, my case was finally handed over to Mr. Carter. He informed me that he was starting his own business Carter Legal Service. I followed him ...to his new office. My case had not moved very fast for numerous reason holds, delays and all kinds of legal maneuvers that was draining my funds and mental well being I was tired. I told Mr. Cater I did not care anymore I was done wanted to just drop the divorce walk away. My personal advice stay away from these really large law firms they cannot promise any better results. Erik Carter may not be the cheapest game in town but he is way more reasonable than the larger firms. I will guarantee when it matter in the court room he will bring his skill to the table. Your only responsibility is return all paperwork that he give you in a timely manner. In conclusion there is know way I can write all that occurred, but I will tell you that Erik Carter has given me a new start, I wish I would have had him in the beginning maybe I would not have lost half of what I did? Divorces are a ugly business and a big heart is the number one ingredient for disaster. let Erik do his thing then you can be generous later, if your so inclined.
