Description:Plaintiffs were drivers on opposite sides of a U. S. Highway who approached a State of Tennessee mower working on the median. State workers failed to keep proper lookout and caused equipment to encroach onto the highway, injuring Ms. Knowles and resulting in the wrongdul death of our client, John Snapp. The case went to trial, resulting in a state maximum verdict for Ms. Knowles and the Snapp family. On appeal, the State tried to overturn the verdict, but was unsuccessful. The State of Tennessee then appealed to the Tennessee Supreme Court, but certiorari was denied. The case is a reported decision found at 49 S.W.3d 330 (Tenn. Ct. App., 2001).
