Young v. Hope

David Scott Becker

Practice Area: Personal Injury

Outcome: 1.1 Million Dollar Verdict on a Property Damage Liability Policy Only

Description: Clients were involved in a motorcycle wreck. The at fault driver carried only property damage liability coverage. An offer was made to settle the entire claim, including bodily injury, for the at fault party's property damage liability limit of $10,000. When his insurance carrier refused to pay, the at fault party was sued. A jury returned a verdict against the at fault driver for 1.1 million. Ultimately, a bad faith claim was pursued against the at fault party's insurance carrier and the judgment was later satisfied.
