About Me

I am a married mother of one grown son. I grew up in a large family, married a Navy man and spent approximately 10 years working various jobs while my husband was transferred throughout the country. In 1992, we settled in Jacksonville and I returned to college to get a degree in legal assisting. Following graduation I took and passed a national test to become a certified legal assistant and began work at Foley and Lardner. In December of 1997, I began my employment with Slott, Barker & Nussbaum where I am today. I was able to attend law school in the evenings while working full time as legal assistant. I graduated as valedictorian of my class.

I was very close to my grandparents and subsequently am actively involved through Jacksonville Area Legal Aid in providing legal assistance to seniors. Over the years I have served as guardian/attorney in fact for several nursing home patients who had no other family.

I am a board member of the Christian Legal Society and participate in their  program to provide legal services to the disadvantaged living at the City Rescue Mission.

On a personal note, I am an avid reader, Jaguars football fan and animal lover.
