About Me

Charla E. Strawser's undergraduate degree is from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majored in philosophy. Her law degree is from the School of Law at Wake Forest University.

During her law school career, Ms. Strawser was president of the Public Interest Law Organization, an active member of the Stanley Moot Court Board, and a Legal Research and Writing Teaching Assistant. While a law student, she was awarded a number of significant honors, including the North Carolina State Bar Pro Bono Public Service Award (1998), Who's Who Among Students in American Universities (1997-98), and a CALI Award for Academic Excellence (1998).

Ms. Strawser is a founding partner of Callner, Portnoy & Strawser, P.C., and she practices in the area of family law, including divorce, child custody, visitation and child support, domestic partnerships, premarital and postnuptial agreements, and paternity and legitimation. Before establishing this firm, she was a partner at Alembik, Fine & Callner, P.A.

Ms. Strawser has been celebrated by appearing on the list of the Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Stars. In addition, she is the co-author of the Georgia Domestic Relations Case Finder (Third Edition,2004 Mathew Bender & Company, Inc., a member of the LexisNexis Group). She is a member of the Georgia Bar as well as the Atlanta Bar Family Law Section. Ms. Strawser is certified in the practice of Collaborative Law.

Within the community, Ms. Strawser has served as a Guardian ad Litem with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, demonstrating her commitment to protecting children and their best interests in divorce cases. She is a longtime supporter of the Georgia Shakespeare Festival.
