Description: Attorney Griffith and his client, Golf Trust of America, Inc., won a jury verdict in federal court in Florence, SC, in August 2007, for almost $4 Million. The Plaintiffs had sued Golf Trust for civil conspiracy to defraud. The Plaintiffs' complaint was dismissed by summary judgment. Golf Trust, as a counterclaimant, sued its former board member for breach of fiduciary duty and breach of confidentiality contract. There was a five-day trial which resulted in a verdict in favor of Golf Trust. The parties later settled the suit.
