State v. Doyle

Case Conclusion Date: 01.24.2011

Practice Area: Criminal Defense

Outcome: Nolled (dropped) at Trial

Description: Client was charged with Larceny and Criminal Trespass. The alleged victim claimed that the defendant stole various scrap metal and a steel frame from her property. The client adamantly denied that he stole anything and explained he had permission to take the property as payment for odd jobs that he did for the alleged victim. The client rejected all plea bargains and elected a trial. After a week of jury selection and on the day evidence was scheduled to begin the state attorney entered a nolle, which means that the state chose not to pursue the charges. In an instant the client went from facing potential jail time to walking out of the door a free man.
