About Me

There is a plaque on my wall which sums up my philosophy, "Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here" attributed to Captain John Parker who led a company of men at Lexington Green. In every legal matter, there is an enormous amount at risk. Often times, it is a person's very freedom that hangs in the balance. I will leave no stone unturned to protect my clients and to defend their interests whatever the situation and whatever the obstacles.

I take every case very seriously and take great pains to spend extensive time with my clients. My primary goal is to first build a relationship of trust with each client as the matters at stake are of utmost importance. I understand that negotiating through the legal process is frightening and confusing, especially if someone has never been involved in the court system before. It is my responsibility to make certain that each client has a full understanding of what is happening to them every step of the way throughout the legal process.

I have been practicing law for almost 10 years in the District, Superior and Probate and Family courts in Essex, Middlesex and Suffolk counties and throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I firmly believe that an effective advocate must not only know the law but must know and be known in all of the local courts. I have spent many years developing a reputation for being a fierce, tenacious advocate for my clients, an accomplishment of which I am very proud!

When I take a case, I spend extensive time with the client, building a relationship of trust. Trust is critical, because important issues are at stake, and it is my job to help you understand what is happening and to guide you to the right direction.

I have been practicing law for almost 10 years. Although I will travel anywhere in Massachusetts to represent clients, I do most of my work in Essex and Middlesex counties. I know and am well known in the local courts, particularly in Newburyport and Ipswich.

Defendants in criminal cases sometimes hire attorneys from large Boston firms, thinking this will increase their likelihood of success. Nothing could be further from the truth. Knowing the court and being known in the court are among the most important factors in effective advocacy. I have developed a relationship of trust with local police-I have represented many friends and family members of police officers-and with local judges and court staff.
